Haha I've been waiting for this all week! I was worried I'd forget!
The reason we took a 2nd day off of CIO - Hayley fell off our bed while I was putting laundry away. It really tore DH up (and he wasn't even in the room to see it happen).
What he DOESN'T know (and I'm never telling him) - the night before (the 1st night we skipped CIO cuz she was under the weather) I had her on the couch with me, down by my legs...and she rolled right over my legs and off the couch...So the kid fell off the furniture twice in less than 24 hrs.
O and that same day - I also hit her in the face with a pretty heavy jar
candle when I was wrestling it off her. Kid's got a death grip. She had a
red mark on her eyebrow the rest of the day.
I had a client meeting on Tuesday and could not be late to pick up my boss from the train station. There was no hot water in the shower for some unknown reason. I washed my hair in the sink where there was hot water, washed my other "parts" with baby wipes, and got dressed. Good enough.
1) I don't like fingernails or toenails painted anything but shades of red, pink, or in a French manicure.
2) I was really nervous that I might be pregnant this month, since we're just doing PNP and avoiding my ovulation time. I was feeling really odd. (turns out, it was just a bad sinus infection. Ha!) I was so relieved to start today. It made me realize that I'm not only completely not ready to have another child, I really don't want another one at all. I was on the fence before, but now I'm really sure. It's a really odd feeling. Anyway, we'll be a bit more proactive about prevention now. I think this is a ramble, not an actual confession.
3) I think the fact that some people feel so strongly about others putting up their shopping carts is hilarious. I seriously LOL at all of the comments when we circle back to this discussion.
4) I'm pretty darn happy that aunt flo showed up, because snarky Lancy is getting on my nerves.
I often write out new posts or replies, but i delete them before posting because I don't think anyone would really care about what I have written. Sometimes I am repeating other replies, sometimes it sounds too preachy or snarky, and sometimes I just think, "hey, no one cares about my dumb little problem."
1. I am one of the dirty lurkers everyone has been referencing this week.
2. I give my kiddo a bite of everything I eat. Mostly healthy stuff, except she hates lettuce, she pulls the most sour face when i give her a bite from my salad. She has also had ice cream, cake, several kinds of cookies, and a bite of my PBJ!
3. She is also watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse as we speak. So I can catch up on the news and bump while I drink my coffee in peace.

I usually try and park next to a cart thingy...but if there isn't one anywhere near me...I leave that jank in front of my car. Not only is Emma freakin heavy, but now she tries to wiggle out of my arms...I am not walking to put the cart away.
The other day it was like 65 outside...so beautiful. We had to run errands and Emma was having a "hardly nap" kind of a day, we were about 5 minutes from the house when she finally fell asleep...we left her in the car. We live on a farm where the nearest neighbor is a half a mile in either direction...and I was in the kitchen and could see the car. She slept for an hour out there! It was the perfect weather and I think she agreed.
We have a 5GB limit to our internet...I still watch my shows on hulu even though it puts us over. I hate the limit and never wanted it...I am trying to get DH to upgrade to a different one. It costs us $10 a GB that we go over. We ALWAYS go over by at least 3 or 4 GB. We're getting Charter next month (:

This reminds me of one more. I love all the new nail polish trends. I have a lot of them pinned on Pinterest. Last year, I did a marbled nails look for every holiday. Sometime next week I'm going to find the time to do my fingers with a evergreen green, white, gray, silver glitter marbled look. I did it last year for Christmas and loved it.
I think acrylic nails are slutty. I think if nails are painted a dark color, they need to be short.
I also hate fake nails. They give me the heebie jeebies..
I cut my nails short and paint them a new color once a week. Sometimes I do funky little designs. I love marbled, but I don't want to actually take the time to do it. Maybe I should !
This is no FFFC though, I still need time to think of it. I always forget.

I totally agree. MIL has the worst hooker nails and I cringe every time her hands are near E's face. I just think about all of the nasty fungus that could be living in them. {shudder}

Agreed. I had no idea this was a topic that could elicit such strong opinions!
My FFFC: I breastfeed primarily because I am too lazy to do anything else.
I think the ladies who don't like partially undressed babies are prudes. They're babies! I've taken a shirtless photo and a photo of him modeling his diaper cover for TTT, just to annoy the ladies with a delicate sense of modesty. You've been warned.
Baby in a diaper =/= a naked baby. This also stood out to me during the discussions this week.
I don't hen peck DH when he makes perfectly safe parenting decisions just because they are different than what I would have done. At times my jaw may drop and I'll be itching to say something, but I stop myself. Men parent differently and it is no better or no worse than how women parent. Babies need both styles. As such, there are things done in our house that would have many of the ladies here giving us major side eye. I think they need to lighten up! I'm proud of what an amazing and confident father my DH has become. And more times than I'd like to admit, his way of doing things has turned out to work better than my way.
One more-
When I see a thread where the ladies are expressing their dismay over a parenting choice that seems unconventional but perfectly safe, I picture them all in 1800s corset dresses, lounging on one of those antique fainting sofas with a laptop, and fanning themselves while they repeatedly say "oh my!" in reaction to the horror of what they are reading. You are fed your baby cake? Oh my!
Completely agree with the diaper baby =/= naked baby sentiment. (please see my siggy for further proof) I think there's an adorable innocence about pictures of a baby in just their diaper, or a diaper cover. (Aria has a silk ruffle-butt cover on in all of my pics, if you can't tell.) FTR, I don't let her run around in just a diaper unless we're doing something messy, just because we have wood floors and I'm afraid she'll be cold.
Completely agree with the "don't hen peck your husband" thing. If I tried to hen peck mine, he'd rooster kick me out of the house.

Boo...
Yay!!! Welcome! (I think I remember seeing you around before )
I think I may have mentioned this before. I tried to enter a picture of L in the Gerber baby contest. They didn't take the photo, because she wasn't wearing a shirt. It would have been fine if she was a boy, but since she's a girl, she had to have been in a shirt. FTR, she was on her tummy, and only her bare shoulder was showing.
since then, my rule of thumb has changed a bit. I don't have a problem with what other people do, but it's definitely changed my stance on what we'll put out there of L.
I put a medium puffy coat on Reece and stick him in the car seat. I'd like to point out that if he has his fleece on the day prior in the carseat, I don't need to adjust the straps when he has a thicker/warmer coat on... so I think it's safe!

Oh yeah.
Around 5 months when Adam got his shots he was extremely fussy tired afterwards.
It was a really hot day outside, I didn't get him redressed. I left the office with my baby wearing nothing but a diaper. But all the ladies at the desk were all over him talking about how cute he is.
It hit me the next day that so many people at the pediatrician office saw my kid in nothing but a diaper.
Since it was summer I had gotten so used to not even getting him dressed for the day because it was always so hot we'd just hang out at home most of the time anyway.
Here's a spin off of the whole topless baby thing.
Once your little girl is 2 I think it's inappropriate to not have her covered. She can walk, talk, and do a lot of things by herself. At that point she's a kid and should be fully clothed in pictures.
A photographer that I liked for a friend posted pics of a girl who was 2 or 3 wearing only a tutu skirt, a long necklace, and a headband. You could see nipple in some shots. They weren't sexualized or age inappropriate, but it was awkward to see little girl nipples on my FB feed.

I totally agree. We had a similar shot done by a photographer and I asked her not to put the photo on FB. I did this only because I have to start the no shirt/not online rule now because my MIL does not have the same understanding of modesty I do and would probably post photos like that when E is older.
Another confession; my christmas card is E in just a green diaper with christmas lights.

I agree with this. I have no problem with babies in diapers (though I would never put a picture of the girls in the bathtub on the internet, but diapers is fine), but when they get older it's different. My BIL had a BBQ over the summer and some friends came over with their 7 and 5 year old. Both girls apparently hate wearing clothes and walked around naked most of the time. I thought my ILs were going to have a heart attack and H mentioned on more then one occasion that our girls will not be allowed to do that. I can't imagine allowing your school age children to walk around naked in another person's home and backyard. They don't know any of the neighbors, who knows who could have been spying on their kids!

Pretty sure we woke Kellen up having sex last night. Luckily Logan could have a bomb go off next to his head and nothing would wake him. The sex was totally worth the 45 minutes it took to get him back to sleep though.
Also, I shrunk DH's favorite sweater really bad, so I went and hid it under all my shoes so he would think he lost it.

I was not happy about it. They had left their bathing suits in the house so I asked their mom if she wanted me to get them so they could walk around in those and she said they like to be naked and they let them "be free". The girls were obsessed with my babies so finally I brought my two inside so they would follow and we hung out in the house most of the time. They were still naked, but at least they were inside with me and not outside in the wide open back yard.

WOW. SD isn't even allowed to go from her bedroom to the bathroom at bath time without a robe on. I think once a child is around 3-4 walking around naked is a no-no. Boys in their underware ok maybe just to go to bed and they wake up and potty but no. My nephew has a thing about wearing clothes. He is 9 and still comes home every day from school and strips to his underware. I don't think this is appropriate.

I could just go on and on about this... but I'll say three things because I can't keep them in my head. First, I'm seriously judging those parents. I try not to judge, but I can't help it here. Second, they need to be the parents and not let the kids run them. I don't care if the kids don't like wearing clothes, you freaking make them. Third, are they going to let them "be free" after puberty? Then again, they let grown men see them naked now, why not then? (and, really, women too. We always say "men" but women can be predators too.) I'm just appalled.
I often take my pants off first thing when I get home. I don't like jeans and if I'm wearing them I feel like I need to get out.
I'm only comfortable in pajama pants and yoga pants...
I remembered another... I rolled my eyes whenever people IRL and on the bump complained about teething and how horrible it was. I just thought to myself, "It really can't be that bad, give them a teething ring and get over it."
Karma is a Biotch; E is finally cutting her first tooth and has been a beast for the last two weeks. Constant runny nose, fussy, chewing on the couch, books, etc and up 4x a night. I need to keep my judgy-judgerson thoughts under control.

How can parents be that clueless? If nothing else, that's plain rude! These girls are going to end up getting naked in front of the wrong person or at school. It's just asking for trouble letting them think it's normal to be naked in public.

Consider this my coming out of lurkdom

I also hate fake nails. They give me the heebie jeebies..
I cut my nails short and paint them a new color once a week. Sometimes I do funky little designs. I love marbled, but I don't want to actually take the time to do it. Maybe I should !
This is no FFFC though, I still need time to think of it. I always forget.
I totally agree. MIL has the worst hooker nails and I cringe every time her hands are near E's face. I just think about all of the nasty fungus that could be living in them. {shudder}

Agreed. I had no idea this was a topic that could elicit such strong opinions!
My FFFC: I breastfeed primarily because I am too lazy to do anything else.
The last part made me LOL, for real. Love it!

Have you seen some of the ish we post?! It's ridiculous! And we all always read it, even if it's silly. Post away honey!

This is soooo me! However, lately, I've been trying to post more
Boo...
Yay!!! Welcome! (I think I remember seeing you around before
)

Bet I'm gonna get the side eye from a lot of you.
I will completely agree with this.

I do this, too.
Yeah that's really bad!
I'm judging them
Pretty sure we woke Kellen up having sex last night. Luckily Logan could have a bomb go off next to his head and nothing would wake him. The sex was totally worth the 45 minutes it took to get him back to sleep though.
Also, I shrunk DH's favorite sweater really bad, so I went and hid it under all my shoes so he would think he lost it.
This makes me a little ill Jen.

LOL I love this.
Ditto.. this is really disturbing!! Were they completely naked?? That's just sick.... seriously what kind of mother and father allows that!!!!
Omg! This is crazy...
Just to clarify, naked as in no underwear too? That is just sick. What is going to happen when they are older and going through puberty?

Yup, completely nude
And these are friends of friends, and it was my ILs house. They don't know my ILs, and most of the people there were only acquaintances. It was rather uncomfortable.
ETA - This is why I'm not a huge fan of H's friends, they're all weird!
It keeps getting weirder & weirder.
Is this CPS worthy?
I do this a lot, too!

This exactly! I feel so sad for these little girls! I truly hope their parents get their crap together and decide to be parents. Its like they are lambs to the slaughter. So incredibly sad.

How can parents be that clueless? If nothing else, that's plain rude! These girls are going to end up getting naked in front of the wrong person or at school. It's just asking for trouble letting them think it's normal to be naked in public.
I take time for myself, even when I'm home alone with my kids. They woke up too early this morning so I fed them, then made them play alone while I sat on the couch to drink coffee and check Facebook. I also just let DD watch two shows in a row (!) while I got work done and hung out with you guys.
This is a confession and an encouragement to the rest of you to take care of yourselves, too
I have another one..
Our miniature daucshund's name is midget. I was 19 when we got him and we thought it was funny. Now I cringe every time someone calls him by that. Dh and I call him Midgey now, but when he gets in trouble I say "MIDGET!" ahh! I cringe thinking about Emma saying his full name!
