I take comfort in knowing that sanctimommies always lose in the end because guess what? They live miserable lives.
I would rather she cry now than that poor kid crying his childhood away.
I tell myself this every time I think of my nephews name. I feel so bad for him. When he goes to school and everyone with his name is a girl. He is going to get picked on hardcore.

My nephews last name is Cox. His parents wanted to name him Aiden.
Aiden Cox.
Come on.
Fortunately, someone convinced them to dodge that landmine.

My nephews name is Teagan. Which is perfectly fine... on a girl.

Yikes.
I've actually met a Rhoda Dyck. None of this friend of a friend crap. She was luckily home schooled.

Lol! [;p] I know someone with a boy Teagan, and I asked his name again and said, Teague? Tadgh? No, Teagan. Nice.
also, why can't Teagan be unisex? I don't think I'd bat an eye if someone told me their boy was Teagan...
what am I missing!!?
The fact that it's one of those names that sounds unisex but is taken over by the girls. Like Addison. You would side eye a male Addison wouldn't you?
Except that in wales it's strictly a girls name. Teagan is a feminine diminutive of Teague or Tadgh in Gaelic the way Michaela is of Michael. We happened to go with the Gaelic spelling since it was more widely used. But the Tegan she was named for is Welsh.

meh, idk; there are boy ashleys; I googled teagan and every website says boy or girl; apparently it was in the top 1000 boy names in 2007
just doesn't strike me as anything too crazy for a boy
Yeah, it's not THAT crazy. However, it's has 2 forms. It's a variant of Tadg or Teague, but in Welsh Tegan is very female and is the original for of Megan. It's also like 200 on the SSa list for 2011 and is gaining HUGE popularity on the girls side. I wouldn't ever be mean enough to name my child a name that is completely taken by girls. It's like the name Peyton or Payton (which is 48 and 94 or sumshit)

Lol, Ashley is still very much a boys name in the UK. I find the ssa list to be much different on the gender leaning below 100 than the country the name originated. Its even different than Canada, so I'm always curious as hell to find out what makes the trend tick.

I wouldn't side eye a male Addison. I would thank his parents for using the name correctly.
I would still feel bad for that kid though. Something about a male name that is used so widely on girls just makes me cringe. It just opens up the kid to tons of picking on when he's in school and the ONLY boy with that name.
Re: Oh hey judging on 2nd tri
Do you know how many names I've seen on TB that I've side eyed? Thankfully they were nobody awesome.
Exactly what I was thinking!
Holy crap.

Grrrrrr.
Ledger.
lol.
Edit. Gosh if I wasn't.bump mobile.... perfect opportunity to post the "serious?" meme with Heath Ledger as Joker.

I posted!!
Also, I totally agree with you RTV. Why do people not completely think through kids' names? It's just sad.
I would rather she cry now than that poor kid crying his childhood away.
yes I am being dramatic and over the top.
Her initial post about judging people whose kids watch TV pissed me off though.

It doesn't help I can't sleep and am.irritable and tired.
And that chick doesn't cut her damn quote trees so it looks like ass on my phone.
Also, agree 1000% on the dang quote trees!!!

I'm confused too.
The first name is so easy to alter. Aiding cox or eating cox come to mind and I'm not a creative 12 year old.
