also, why can't Teagan be unisex? I don't think I'd bat an eye if someone told me their boy was Teagan...

    what am I missing!!?

The fact that it's one of those names that sounds unisex but is taken over by the girls. Like Addison. You would side eye a male Addison wouldn't you?

I wouldn't side eye a male Addison. I would thank his parents for using the name correctly.

I would still feel bad for that kid though. Something about a male name that is used so widely on girls just makes me cringe. It just opens up the kid to tons of picking on when he's in school and the ONLY boy with that name.

Meh, it's the new MacKenzie around here. Just as many girls as boys. IDC if it's on boys or girls, it's just too fraking trendy. Add McKenna and McKinley to that and you have half the first grade.

One thing I've noticed though is that names seem to be very different in more European countires. Do you know how many times my SIL said " But in the UK it's a BOY name"... uh, yeah. However, in the US it's a girl name, cuz people in the US are stupid. Don't name your son a girl name. I know kids will be kids and will find a way to pick on you, but don't give them an excuse.

No, you're right. I wouldn't name a boy a name that was clearly going to the girls side. It sucks. A lot of the names I like for a boy are headed for girls: Rowan, Rhys [Reese for girls], Ashton [already gone]. Blech.
Makes me sad too. I love Rowan and Rhys.

As do I! Though when you google the name Rowan you get lots of pics of Mr. Bean.

Yep. Fraking iPad. If I post something weird, I'm not on my laptop. I hate trying to cp or pip on this thing. If I'm going for gold, I'm going on my laptop, this is a pita.

Yeah, that's the only way to do it. I never would have been able to do it on my phone, doing it on the laptop was freaking hard!

I knOw he's a fraking goofball, but I love Rowan Atkinson. But I've been partial to British TV since before I can remember. I've watched Corrie since 1982. I could add to the list. 10 points if you can guess the other inspiration for T's name. Hint, take an a out of her name and google if you have to. Makes me just a big of geek. I would have absofrickinlutely used Mara Jade too. DH won. Damned Brit.

I like him too. Are you talking about Tegan and Sara the band? or something else lol. I'm slightly braindead right now. I only consented to Mara because it's gaelic for the Sea. I refuse to acknowledge the hebrew name. If we had 2 girls the second girl would of been named Elspeth. I have a thing for older names, gaelic names, welsh, and old lady names.

Maybe I need to go to bed, but can someone explain to me why Aiden Cox is a horrible name?

I don't get it either, it's not like Dickey Cox or sumshit.

Also, my kid watches TV. She has one in her room. We had McDonalds for dinner last night.

    Judge away, haterz.

My SD has a TV in her room and has for a few years. She's a smart, active, and very much loved child. If she wants to watch a little Nickelodeon, more power to her.
