July 2013 Moms

I keep forgetting I'm pregnant

Maybe it's because I'm out of town visiting family for Thanksgiving, or maybe because I'm so stinking busy, but I keep forgetting I'm pregnant. I mean, I'm exhausted and my boobs are popping out of my bra (with my last kid they got up to an E from an A, they went back down to a B). But those are all my symptoms.

Last night I ate a bunch of clams and almost pigged out on brie until I was like OH WAIT!. Two nights ago, I almost drank some wine and then I was all, "I'm KNOCKED UP!" Seriously. I'm the worst mom already. At least I'm remembering my prenatal vitamins.

My mom told me she was "worried" for my child when I told her I wasn't sick. Thanks mom. I was worried too until I remembered that's NOT SCIENCE.

Is anyone else forgetting?

  • I'm still in denial. We went out to dinner with our friends and DH had to elbow me to remind me what our big news was. Oops! Better put down the drink menu! Because I haven't had a dr appt or an ultrasound it makes it feel like I'm not pg. Symptoms are hitting me one by one like a ton of bricks, though. We can be bad pg moms together. Chasing around my toddler all day makes me forget a lot of things. Like sending out pictures I printed of her three weeks ago... another oops!

  • Noooo my body and this baby won't let me lol.

Sometimes I feel more pregnant than I look lol.

  • I'm not necessarily forgetting but besides feeling tired and off and on cramps/soreness I don't feel pregnant. I know morning sickness will probably hit me and I'll be wishing for these days. Haha

Our kids are about the same age! Just a couple weeks apart. Let's start a terrible pg mom club. I wish my husband would forget I was pregnant so I could drink!

I was super sick with my daughter from day one until well into the third tri. So, I think that's why she's all, "I'm worried." Also, my mom is crazy. And it takes a lot not to be brought down with her. :)

  • With my first I had no symptoms at all thru my whole pregnancy. No cravings or anything and my lil man is just perfect. This pregnancy OMG I have cravings every 5 mins and my boobs are killing and gas that can kill someone. I can't believe boobs can go from an A to an E. I'm an A and stayed an A with my lil man.

  • That made me laugh. Sore boobs and terrible gas! What is happening?!! I feel your pain!
  • I keep forgetting as well. I guess with DD I had been trying for a while so I was so excited and nervous that I was constantly thinking about it. Now I am always taking care of her and life has just gotten so much more busy that I do forget and when I remember it is so surprising. I'm excited but it was our first month trying so I am still in denial that it was so easy.

Haha! He certainly didn't forget because he poked fun at me saying "I wonder if they make drink deliveries in LD". I just totally forgot!!! We hardly ever go out to eat because toddlers can be holy terrors in public places where they are asked to be confined for more than 15 minutes. When we do go out I usually order myself one fancy schmancy drink. Old habits die hard I guess. I feel like a fool for forgetting I'm pg!

This, totally. I could not forget for a second with my son after all we went through. now I forget for chunks of the day and even when I do remember, it all feels theoretical. I can't connect the images we saw on the ultrasound with the fact that I feel 100% normal with the exception of peeing, eating, and sleeping more. It's been a weird experience so far. I think it will feel more real when we're out of first tri (right around Christmas day).
