Here is the deal ladies...
I use to be an avid Starbucks drinker. I would buy drinks from Starbucks anywhere from once to twice a day! I am a gold member and love, love, love my mixed drinks.
My entire pregnancy I have not had any caffeine! I was just wondering do you guys think its okay to get a drink from there like once a week?
I love my caramel frapps, caramel mochs, white choc. mochas, etc.
I have not had soda in 7 years, because I gave it up, so I don't have to worry about extra caffeine intake from both. Do you guys still drink Starbucks, and do you think its okay to have it? Any of your doctors said anything about it?
Thanks!

Frappuccinos contain crack, so you should probably stay away...
Just kidding, it's fine. Just don't add a ton of extra shots. You also can always get it decaf of half-caf if you want (except iced coffee and chai).
order decaf or half-caf.

I have a strange aversion to coffee since getting pregnant, which is so strange because I normally love coffee.
But I have been drinking green or black tea every morning and treating myself to a chai latte once or twice a week.
Like PPs said, under 300mg of caffeine a day is normally fine!
First comes love, next comes marriage, then comes...
It's fine. Just say under 200-250mg. A tall latte only has like 75 mg. of caffeine.
I drink coffee almost every day.
I wasn't able to drink it at all until about a week ago with this pregnancy which sucked because I get really bad headaches when I don't have caffeine.
OP like everyone has said, keep it under about 250mg and you will be fine.
I worked there for almost 7 years... if you are really counting your caffeine intake, the caffeine for HOT espresso drinks at Sbux is (75mg/shot):
Tall - 75mg
Grande - 150mg
Venti - 150mg
Same for iced drinks except the Iced Venti size -- these have an extra shot of espresso, so they are 225mg. Americanos all get extra shots (venti = 4 shots = 300mg), so either stay away from those, get half caf/decaf, or ask the barista to use less shots.
Anything can be made decaf or half caf (with the exception of Chai Tea Lattes), which is what I switched to when I go. Enjoy it! DH's favorite is Egg Nog Latte which has always been super gross to me!
I am a Starbucks addict also. Twice a day! I switched to teas because I need caffeine (green tea mostly, sometimes black tea if I need a little extra). If you stay until 200mg of caffeine a day, you should be fine.
With the mixed drinks, I would be more worried about the sugar content. Since minimizing intake of sugar is recommended during pregnancy, having a Starbucks mixed drink once a day might not be a good idea. I wouldn't recommend the sugar-free version either because they sometimes have synthetic ingredients that you would want to avoid anyways during pregnancy.
I'm sure a small or whatever they call it is fine. If I go, I get decaf because if I drink a whole caffeinated one I get sick (which is weird, because caffeinated pop doesn't make me sick).
I follow the 300mg limit for caffeine. A shot of espresso from Starbucks is 75mg, so a grande latte would be 150mg. You can also get their drinks in decaf or half caf.
I generally don't drink their coffee while I'm pg because it's much higher in caffeine content than home brewed coffee. I drink a 12oz coffee every morning at home, which is about 200mg.

I usually hit Starbucks with my mom a few times a week, but I am a Dr. Pepper fan too so I just make sure my total Caffiene intake is below 300mg/Day! Enjoy yourself girl!
My Dr. was not concerned about the caffeine as much as he was the sugar content and the risk of Gestational Diabetes. He said my cup of coffee a day was fine even two if I like but to cut down all the sugar.
So you are likely fine on the caffeine but watch out with the sugar better to cup back a little now then have to cut it out completely because you have GD.
I have a coffee in the morning and another in the afternoon, plus too much Pepsi. I did it last time too. DS turned out totally awesome.
I was never told to avoid it.
I didn't drink ANY caffeine in my first tri, but my doctor said it was fine to have up to 2 cups of coffee a day.
Now that I'm in my second tri, I get Starbucks every Friday.... it's my little treat to celebrate the fact that I made it through another week! I usually get a caramel frappuccino, I can't get enough.
