Ok sorry if this is odd but I really don't know. I am new to this whole realm and not sure what is appropriate. I am going to a catholic baptism today and I am not sure if I am suppose to take a gift. The baby boy is 8 weeks. I don't know if it matters but I am not religious.nbsp;
Eta: I also have no clue what to wear.
How dressy is it?
It's raining and cold and I was hoping to wear Lo in a sling since I'll be by myself and I'm hoping she will sleep/ stay quiet.
Re: Baptism gift?
The appropriate gift for Catholic baptisms (in New York, at least) is money. I'm not religious either, but I've been to my share for family members.
We're not Catholic, but DS received a mix of gifts, money, and cards for his baptism.
Most of the gifts were religious in some way (stuffed lamb that plays Jesus Love Me), cross, a doll that says a nighttime prayer, books of prayers, Bible, CD of religious songs).
This. The aunts will sometimes give a rosary or something along with it but cash is the main thing.
Ok thank you all so much. I think I'll go to our local hallmark store and maybe get a commemorative picture frame and give that with some money. Also thanks for the outfit advice I was lost on what to wear ESP since its cold and rainy. I was thinking black slacks boots and a nice sweater?
Portuguese?
