We've got a tummy sleeper

So after 7 months, she has just started once in a while tummy sleeping...this is coming from a girl who loathed tummy time. So weird. I never thought this would happen. Any of you guys have new tummy sleepers?

Also, she was sleeping for two longer chunks during the day for naps for a few weeks and has gone back to her two hours awake and one hour asleep. I don't mind, I think it's interesting she went back to that.

  • one of my babies has started tummy sleeping sometimes too. she's old enough now that I don't worry about it. they both roll around like crazy.

maybe she was going through a growth sprut when she was napping much more? I always attribute that kind of stuff to a growth spurt.

Yes, she's rolls around a lot too. I think she covers every inch of the crib in a night :) and yes to a possible growth spurt.

  • My boy has been tummy sleeping since he was probably 3 months old. I tried to fight it but if that's how he wants to sleep, there's not much I can do about it. He's also a fan of sleeping with a blanket in his face. He purposely pulls blankets up to his face and rubs them against his face just before passing out. I think if he wasn't my second child I would be completely freaked out.

Micah does this, too. I used to wait until he was out cold, and then pull the blanket off to the side, but he always managed to find it in his sleep and pull it back up to his face. The only way we can get him to go to sleep when he's fighting it is to give him a blanket, which he promtly smothers himself with. Fortunately, it can really be any blanket. Sometimes it's the sleeve of my robe.

  • DS is a tummy/side sleeper. He sleeps on his right side, snuggled up to a lovey and ends up on his stomach at some point.
