Ooh I have another one. My car registration expired on Oct 31. Whoops. But I'm waiting to reregister it until we hear back/have a final answer from this new job that might happen in TX. I don't want to pay more for a 2yr tag when we will be leaving the state! Hell, I'd rather not pay at all and just register when we move. I haven't been driving a ton, but the other day, I was driving when I noticed a county cop behind me. I was like, "oh s hit!," and like some criminal, quickly ducked off on a side road that was not on my route.

Same here. I work for law enforcement and all of the Detectives are out on the road patroling the areas hit hard by Sandy. Therefore, I have NOTHING to do. And we have no idea when they will return to the office.

Again, can't quote. But I think amyc said it best. It's more about my own insecurities. How some people post and there's a flock of responses, and then others post and there are crickets. It also seems like there are girls who have each other's backs, per say. But again, it all stems from my owninsecurities. As someone else referenced, "It's me, not you."

Some of us have been surprised with having 2 babies close together. Yes, I feel like a 16 year old who got "caught" but it is what it is and we're excited to add to our family.

And in lame confessions: I noticed DS pooped while we were picking up DD from PreK this morning and I just put him back in his carseat and changed him when I got home. He didn't seem to mind and I didn't have the energy to take care of it while out and about.

I maintain that this is ridiculous. Some post topics get more responses than others, not more posters. I post crap all the time that gets nothing and some that goes on for days. And yes, there are some people that have grown close and take care to acknowledge each other, but that's to be expected after so long. That doesn't mean that they only talk to each other, or that all the popular girls are running over to comment on each other's posts. Come on.

I also think that when you are online it is hard to read between the lines, or let people know you are listening. I tend to read everyone's posts, but I don't respond to all. Sometimes I just don't respond because my thoughts were already posted, I have nothing to contribute, I'm tired, or I feel I have posted too much already.

My confession is that Gator is forward facing for our road trip. The straps on her infant seat were too tight so we ordered a new seat. It was supposed to come before our trip but got delayed. So she has to sit in a carseat I bought that doesn't fit in our car rear facing. And not only does it not fit, you cannot adjust the harness straps RF. I had it inspected by two carseat inspectors and they were at a loss. Because we couldn't wait for the new seat, we had to either have an unsafe RF carseat with no tightening ability, or a super tight and immobile FFing seat with the harness snug. So she is FF. I have to be honest, I flipping love it. An 18hr drive over two days...all of the driving during daytime, she has taken short naps, doesn't want to play with her new toys we packed....she just sits there staring out the front window and looking at us. We are 15hrs in, and no fits, no crying, nothing.

As much as she loves it, she will be disappointed when we get back and her new carseat is installed....RF.

Can I confess that I have really little pinky toes and I have to be careful with strappy sandals or my little toes hang out the sides like that. I have band-aided my toes down to wear cute strappy shoes before.

Also, I don't think I am particularly sharp witted, funny, or even good with the English language, but I never feel like an insider/outsider of a clique.

The AAP does now recommend waiting until 2 to FF, and the laws haven't quite caught up. I would strongly suggest looking into it. It is much safer.

Elsa, if it makes you feel better, her car tolerance will fade as the newness of FF wears off. I speak from experience. So if you RF when you get home and then switch her again next year you'll get the docile kid all over again. Nice.

Actually, the law changed this year. It is now 2 yrs, but I don't know the weight. I think most states are still 1 yr though.

I'm guessing a secure, properly installed FFing seat is safer for your trip than an improperly installed RFing seat.

In my state I believe it is still 1year AND 20lbs by law. But we are planning on ERF.

She actually doesn't mind the car RF until her straps got too tight on her infant seat. Then she hated being in her seat. So I have a feeling she will be fine RF once her new seat gets installed. We really lucked out with having a baby that travels well since we do a lot of car trips! Most of my friends have to travel through the night because their kids fight car traveling and freak out. If Gator was like that I would probably give up all car trips! Haha
