XP: Chart of IVF Med Prices for 13 Pharmacies

                             ****TICKER WARNING****

I recently discovered I am now OOP for my IVF meds, so decided to research a number of pharmacies, and here are the results from my research on prices for Menopur 75 IU, Follistim 300 IU, Lupron microflare (my dose is 40mcg/0.2ml), and trigger meds (Novarel, HCG, or Pregnyl).  Note that each will have their own requirements for shipping, and that I did not ask about shipping costs from everyone.

I also learned about two discount programs, which some of you may or may not be familiar with: Heart and Discount Rx.  They help with the costs of all these meds (Heart covers Menopur and Novarel, Design Rx covers Follistim and Lupron).  As far as I can tell, the discounts are included in all prices, but it's possible some pharmacies didn't include them (some volunteered this info, and I didn't ask it of all of them).

The quick and dirty take home from this is that international pharmacies (in italics) are cheaper, although you probably don't want to order your Lupron microflare from them since it is compounded and needs to be used pretty quickly after being mixed), not to mention some people have issues getting it on time due to customs issues.  If you go the USA pharmacy route, you will probably want to mix and match different drugs from different pharmacies.  In my case, I'll be ordering Follistim and HCG from Walgreen's, Menopur from Freedom Fertility or Avella, and my Lupron from Mandell's.

    Thanks!

We're using the same meds. I used freedom fertility last time and am using ivfmeds(menopur and follistim), a local compounding pharmacy (microLupron) and Walgreens (doxy, novarel, progesterone) this time. Looks like I was royally screwed over with Freedom :)

You and me both.  I have $10K lifetime IF meds coverage, and have only done 1 IVF cycle (I have to use Freedom for my insurance coverage).  Granted I did stim for 12-13 days and still have a bunch of leftover meds (1500 IU of Follistim and 14 vials of Menopur), but they say I already spent over $11K on the meds.

I would love to know where they get off charging almost twice as much as everyone else for Follistim.

As best I can tell, that's it.  My IVF coordinator just told me the specific dosage, and I'll be using it for the first time, so I'm not 100% sure, but I think it's the same thing.
