Is anyone else losing weight? As of my OB appt at the beginning of Sept I was up 1 lb to 139, yesterday I weighed and I was at 137.5, today I'm at 134! What is going on? I do remember having trouble gaining weight with DD, but wondered if anyone else is going the wrong direction in the weight department? I eat when I'm hungry, and I swear this is NOT an AW post!!
Re: Losing weight?
I am thinking mine is partially due to my big cut down in carbs and sugar. But I have no clue
If it makes you feel better, this exact same thing happened with my DS and when we had our AS he was in the 75 percent! Baby will take what he or she needs!
I have also lost weight but I did the same thing with DS. My doctor said that it is probably due to eating better. I do cut out alot of the junk when I am pregnant, as I should all of the time. Don't stress about it, as long as you are not feeling overly hungry and are drinking plenty of water you will be fine.
I've lost about ten pounds so far. I'm chalking it up to eating better. Before we got pregnant, since it was a surprise, I wasn't doing the best job with keeping my blood glucose under control (a few days before the HPT, when I was sure that the cramping I was feeling was my period about to start up, I downed a pint of shrimp fried rice in a hormone induced carb need). As soon as I found out I was pregnant, I cut that *** out because of the heightened risk of miscarriage, birth defects, and abnormally ginormous babies that come with out of control blood sugar. My doctors so far don't seem to be concerned. They said that most of the weight gain should be in the later trimesters and as long as the baby is looking healthy and you're not starving, there shouldn't be too much of a problem with early weight loss.
If you're really worried, you could request to see a dietician? I was referred to one anyway because of diabetes and there's one that works at the high risk clinic I go to, so it's become just another part of my prenatal appointments. I've kept a food log of everything I eat since I was diagnosed a few years ago with diabetes, so I had that to show her. She said that I was actually not hitting my calorie needs, and asked me to up the amount of protein I was getting in meals. She also had some helpful advice when I told her about the food aversions I was having (especially the smell of cooking chicken).
My pregnancy blog
I am/have been. I gained almost 10 lbs on our honeymoon where we conceived and within a week of being home and not eating like crap and drinking alcohol, I dropped all 10 lbs like nothing. I've lost 3 more since then and I'm 1 lb under what I'm considering my "pre-pregnancy weight" which was 117 so I'm tiny and 10 lbs on me is a big deal. I just made them test my thyroid levels and that should be back in a few days (I had a lot of other symptoms of that as well).
With DD I had probably gained almost 5-8 lbs at this point. They didn't say they were worried but I'm a hypochondriac and look more at the big picture rather than simply losing 3 lbs. (BTW when I went to my appointment I had just eaten a huge lunch and was in scrubs with a shirt underneath when I usually weigh myself naked and it was still 3 lbs less than my previous appointment).
