Autographs from our hospital visitors...

I'm due in 9wks and really want something for our visitors to sign. Something that the baby will always have. I know some people bring the baby book in and have people sign that, but thats just a little too traditional for my husband and I. I could really use some ideas! I've heard of having a children's book for everyone to sign or the traditonal autograph photo frame. What other options are there? the more unique, the better in my opinion. Her name is Oakley and the nursery theme is owls. I can't wait to hear what everyone comes up with. Thanks!

  • My point of view:

IMO you don't want to do something too unique.  You and your DH/SO will be busy with Oakley and won't want to explain to everyone how to fill out the book/frame/whatever.  Also, guests will want to see Oakley and won't really care about signing in.

  • I think this is a good idea!  I really like the idea of using a book.  Maybe something sweet and poetic like Dr. Suess (sp?) or Shel Silverstein.  My mom gave me and my sisters a copy of The Giving Tree once and it's truly a story about the sacrifices a parent will make for their children.  Maybe not appropriate for a newborn, but something along those lines.

  • It will be something that will grow with her. I think I'll look books like Dr. Suess, Eric Carlisle, and many other childrens aurthors. Thank you! Im thinking of hanging a sign on the door or beside the sink as you first walk into our room asking everyone to sign.

  • I saw something on Pintrest that should be easy and is a little different.  They had a white onesie with the baby's name on it and had everyone sign that.  Then they framed it with all the hospital stuff they received (footprints, bracelet, etc.).  I thought that was cute.

    Thats cute! Thanks!

  • My sister did this cute thing for my wedding that may be really cute. She had a picture of a tree without leafs on it, and people would put ink thumb prints as the leafs and sign there name or initials. I'm sure you can find a picture that also had an owl in it to tie into LOs theme, frame it and have some really cute artwork!
