Just because some behave badly doesn't mean the whole party is the same way.

I find the idea that booing and hissing is somehow more offensive than actually trying to enact laws that discriminate against others, rooted in supposed "Christian" values, pretty laughable.
But then, I doubt you and I are going to agree on this one.

I admit I haven't watched much of the conventions. But are you talking about the Christian group that was protesting at the convention? Protesting the Democrats supporting same sex marriage and abortion.

If this is what you are talking about, as a Christian myself I am ok with them getting booed.

As usual, I must agree with scout.

I am a Christian and don't believe that Jesus wanted us to legislate the way someone loves. I think this idea applies to all of the hot button social topics, from welfare to gay marriage to abortion.

Definitely about perspective. I've thought the DNC has been inspirational. I couldn't watch the RNC for more than 5 minutes without throwing something at the tv.

Disney sounds amazing. I can't wait to take the kiddos. The good news? I took DD to preschool and WALKED the twins inside with her. I made it through the parking lot, down two flights of stairs and down a hall. No one darted and we made it back to the car unscathed. NO STROLLER! This was huge.
But I digress....the DNC convention. Hmmm....

My stroller has been sitting in the closet for about three weeks now. I haven't taken all three anywhere on my own because they are in school everyday from 8:30 to 11:30 and all I do is drive up and the teachers take them in and out of the car. Nonetheless, it feels so good not to have taken that dang stroller out in almost a month!

I'm so impressed that you are doing all of that on your own and they are being so cooperative. I'm jealous. : )

I have no idea why they were booing, I don't have TV except Hulu and Netflix so I haven't been watching. What I am referring to is people expecting religion to be a key factor in politics for a country of people with very diverse religious standings.

I believe booing and hissing is tacky as all shiit, but its still much much much classier than throwing peanuts at a woman and calling her an animal most likely due to race. Just a thought.

After reading the explanation, I think they were right to boo and hiss. Why put it back in if the majority doesn't agree? It's just pandering to get votes. I mean, where's the honesty in politics if the platform is just a bunch of b.s. designed to bring in votes?

So they weren't booing Christianity, they were booing the fact that the party changed its stance on the inclusion of religion in the platform.

You're not being helpful.

But thank you to the people who clarified. I think in this instance, the booing was justified. They weren't booing Christians/Christianity, they were booing the fact that the losing vote still won...smells like the 2000 election.

Then IMO they weren't booing "Christians" but rather the decision to reinstate the wording despite it being clear that the measure did not have two thirds majority. Or probably fifty fifty. Even though I think it was super ridiculously stupid to take those things out to begin with, political strategy speaking, I can totally see myself booing for a few seconds immediately after if I were a "no" voter.
