April 2012 Moms

Without starting a bunch of random drama

can someone fill me in on some stuff? I read the bj nursing thread, does someone have a link to the infamous onesie thread? And I know I've asked this before..but there are two different facebook groups for this board? Is anyone in both? Is one good/one evil?! I don't get it. Who started these groups? I need details here. I can't think of it specifically but someone said something the other day that made me confused! Gah! I wish I would have been here from the start!

  • A good way to catch up is to sort the posts by total views in descending order at the bottom and apply temporarily. That will bring up some good ones for you!

  • I think you can find the BJ FFFC by sorting posts by view count because it had like 40K views.

And yes my understanding is that there are two FB groups. One of current April 2012 mom and one with some that defected but still lurk and then jump into remind us why they "left". Sometimes this happens when Gisa whispers for them...

I didn't even know this was an option!!

  • I am totally lost too. I know about the bj nursing thread too, but no idea about any of the rest of it. I guess I will have some reading to do tonight when I am up with dd.

  • To my knowledge there are 2 FB groups. One isn't good/evil. One has some members who dislike TB and certain members of April2012. So they sometimes come back here to lurk and stir up drama. Many of us equally dislike those certain people too so I guess it all evens out. I can't link on my phone but i think if you Google naynay and they shake me....you get the link. That's how I found it a few months ago.

  • I believe the FB group coined the term April Posse....and the movie Mean Girls references, Gisa being queen and Regina George.

This helps a lot. Who's mamaboden? I've seen her mentioned in a couple threads.

  • As far as I know, the two FB groups are the April Mama Advice one, that has both 2011 and 2012 April moms, and the other one with the "haters" who may all be lovely people for all I know, but who have a few folks who apparently have Google alerts for their screen names or something and pop up to start stuff from time to time. I used to be in the Advice group, but never really found myself asking for advice, and I felt weird about my whole name being out there, so I left it when we were having an influx of trolling. I think that creepster posting the thread with Tamb's full name and job and stuff was what finally sent me over the edge.

There was also some fun with bump photos and a person who posed with handguns and small dogs. There's some debate as to whether it was a "joke" of some sort or not.

  • Mamaboden was a "pregnant 12 year old girl" who was all into the bump and shiz. She was "raped" by a 17 year old and was pregnant with his baby and she was totes excited to be carrying her rapist's child. She had a 12 year old boyfriend that demanded she be naked around him all the time. Her due date changed frequently. She created a Facebook group and then called kellbelle. She said she lived in NZ, but the number she called from was a US number. She had many AEs and was a member of babycenter and the like. Her story never matched up.

I guess what would be funny is that the kid would be trying to get the parents in trouble for something they obviously didn't do.

But, I don't think it's funny to joke about. My hubby sees way too many tragic abuse cases for it to ever be OK. But then again, I'm so hard core, my kiddos don't even get to wear clothes with "Daddy's Princess" on them because I don't allow words on clothes, period. The only "words" onesie they have has Arkansas on it and says Little Rocker.

  • I was a member of the "other" FB group for a while.  I joined when it first started, but I never posted in it.  I did see the massive amount of Gisa hating that went on.  The group is secret, so you can't find them.  They dropped me from the group a few weeks ago when they realized that I was not going to hate on the bump moms.  I was soooo upset when they kicked me out ::sarcasm::

  • The Facebook group was founded by mamabear. She was once flamed for spanking her son for touching the tv, but refused to buy a wall mount for her tv because it is so expensive. People questioned how she could afford a second child, but not a wall mount. It was joined by NayNay who got a severe case of the butthurtz over her not funny onesie. She did come back and post the gun HDBD picture and occasionally shows up. I am pretty sure JessicaHnumbers is a part of it too. She left after a UO where I said the FTM excuse is dumb and not an excuse to e an idiot. She also has come back to let me know I'm a big ol meanie. I think they are also joined by nzmum, another teen who is suspected of trolling behavior. She claimed to have been pregnant like 3 times in a very short amount of time. She and her then fianc?, now husband (maybe ex-husband) couldn't afford a crib, but could take 2 baby moons. They were married all of five minutes when she started talking divorce and were only together 3 months when they got pregnant and engaged. There are others, but they don't stand out.

Good question. I don't think I can tell you exactly what I found funny about them. I just remember reading them and having a chuckle.  I remember showing DH the one of the bib with the cape reference (They put my cape on backwards - or something like that).  I also liked the "does this make my butt look big" just because my family has the "Woodstock curse" we call it, all the women in my family have big butts so it just struck a cord with me.  Please don't get me wrong I know there is nothing funny nor do I find anything funny about shaking a baby, nor would I ever put that onsie on my kid.  Maybe just a sick sense of humor?  I don't know...  I do admit I posted my response to NayNays post before reading everyones' responses.  I then looked back and read them and noticed some people were offended by the they shake me onsie because they knew a baby who had been shaken.  That broke my heart and took all the funny out of that onsie.  But I did and still do find her other one's funny...  I hope that doesn't make me a bad person.

No worries. I truly had no idea how common abuse was. Here's literally the scenario that opened my eyes: I was watching the local news with my hubby. They did a story about a severely neglected child who was practically starved to death by his meth head parents who lived in deplorable conditions. The child died and the parents were being charged with like, negligent homicide. I'm sitting there horrified, and hubby goes, "Why is this on the news?" I was like, "Um, because it's horrifying?" And he was like, "Yeah, sure, but I see at least one terrible case of abuse every single day, and they usually don't report it on the news." He almost never tells me about the truly terrible stuff like that. I hear about cool procedures he does or when he really gets to save a life, but he has I guess mostly protected me from the sadness he has to deal with. It's so tragically common.

I didn't realize this either....  It's hard for me to even imagaine that someone could do such things to an innocent baby.  Babies don't choose to be here we bring them to this world.  That is so sad.  There is no way I could manage what your DH does.
