4. She is doing so good! she is just turning 9 months and weighs around 20lb. She is behind for her actual age, but is right on target for her adjusted, so no worries.

Severe IUGR, Due to placental deficiancy, decrease fetal movement, went in to ER and DD was showing signs of fetal distress, drops in heartrate. I also had GD, a Single Umbilical Artery and after birth it was discovered that my placental deficiancy was due to a form of a cornual pregnancy. My placenta never fully came out of my fallopian tube, it was in the very cornor of my uterus, so it didn't show up on US it looked asif it was fully implanted. DR is HR and said he had never seen anything like it, that resulted in a live birth and no complications for me.
4. Updates on how your LO(s) is doing now?
We just had her first NICU follow up yesterday! She is doing great, hitting all her milstones, some at her actual age! She is smiling, laughing and talking away to anyone that will listen! We are working on sitting and she is doing great she can sit for short periods assisted. We also started slowly introducing soilids this week, so far she loves sweet potatos!
1. When is your LO(s) birthday and how old are they now? 6/7/12 - 10.5 weeks
2. Birth weight/length and gestational age at birth? They think they were about a pound a piece - there's a bit of confusion around that because of the chaos surrounding my c-section. The doctor said I moved up the list to one of her worst c-sections ever. She was running in from the parking lot, someone else opened me up, the fibroids were in the way, the babies were all tangled in chords, and at one point they were lifting me off the table trying to get them out. The girls were pretty bruised, and as for me, I believed the phrase she used was "trying to put Humpty Dumpty back together".
They were 24 weeks, 6 days.
3. Why did you deliver early? Fibroids - a cluster of them. They got big (two were removed during my c-section that were as big as the babies.) Samantha ruptured, but they were able to keep them in for almost 48 hours and received the two steroid shots and the magnesium.
4. Updates on how your LO(s) is doing now? Great! Emily is 4 lbs 7 oz, Samantha is 5 lbs 10 oz. Emily is a bit behind due to a perforated bowel and a PDA surgery, but I'm told she'll catch up. They're learning to eat, and Samantha has a little trouble remembering to breathe...she turns blue, but comes right back. They'll get it! Hopefully we can go home in a few weeks, but Sam might come home first. Never can tell what a Preemie's gonna do, though - they're running the show!

7/1/12. She's 7.5 weeks actual, but not due until 9/7/12.

IC caused preterm labor. I suspect my cervix was damaged due to my cervical pregnancy in April 2011 because I had zero cervical issues with my oldest daughter.

She was discharged from NICU on 8/12/12 (exactly 6 weeks old) at 5 pounds and 3 oz. She's doing great. Still really sleepy!

Also I got one steroid shot because my kids were on the small side (daughter was severe IUGR). 10 hours later they were checking my babies with the doppler before bed and my son was having dcels of his heart. no idea. I lost my MP over the weekend, Sunday night I kept waking up from dreams that I was having the babies. Monday morning I told DH I was going to end up in the hospital that day. PTL started and couldn't be stopped. He only told me they had probably gotten big enough to trick my body into thinking I was done. Funny thing is DD was a 5 day active labor that couldn't be sped up where as the boys were a 5 hour active labor that couldn't be stopped.
4. Updates on how your LO(s) is doing now?
great! off their apnea monitors, weighing about 14 and 15 lbs, Colin is now the big one! Harry has torticollis, OT should start soon. I'm still wishing they would sleep through the night, crossing our fingers it starts soon.

3. I started having contractions and went to the hospital to find I was starting to dilate and was pretty far effaced. Was on Mag for 48 hours and then procardia to try to stop labor. That didn't work. I received both steroid shots to help his lungs. I delivered 3 days after going into the hospital with unexplained PTL.
4. He's doing great! He has tripled his birth weight and grown six inches since birth. He's our little champion! He is in PT to strengthen his neck muscles and arms, but he's doing really well. He's a sweet, sweet boy!

Leah--4 lbs 9oz and 17 1/4 in Lily--5lbs 6 and 17 3/4 in at 35w1d (or 33w6d depending where on my chart you looked, we moved and my mfm changed my due date based on size and the unreliablility of my cycles due to a previous loss, needless to say, our hospital stay was quite confusing as a result!)
3. Why did you deliver early? PTL, no complications until my appt that day when I was 4 cm with a bulging bag. My doctor had always warned me to expect the unexpected with multiples!
4. Updates on how your LO(s) is doing now?
The were in the NICU for 18 and 20 days respectively. Mostly for feeding and growing but Lily (baby b) was on cpap for a few days and it took her a while to get her a's and b's in check. She came home without a monitor though!
They are awesome! They have been on the regular growth chart the whole time (and are both above the 50th % for weight, Leah is a shorty though). Lily is ahead on her milestones for her actual age and Leah is taking her time but is on track for her actual age for most things. I like to say she is just laid back and in no hurry!

1. When is your LO(s) birthday and how old are they now? Riley was born May 28, 2012. He will be 3 months this coming Tuesday.
2. Birth weight/length and gestational age at birth? He weighed 3lbs 7oz and was 16.5" long. He is now a little over 10lbs and 22" long!
3. Why did you deliver early? Unknown PLT. I went in for a slight spotting and back pain, which they thought was a kidney infection. 4.5 hours in the hospital I went from 0 to 8 cm dilated and they didn't catch it until I was 8 cm because they never good pick up contractions on the monitor.
4. Updates on how your LO(s) is doing now? Riley is doing awesome. He spent 4 weeks in the NICU as a feeder and grower. When he went home he was one an apnea monitor for 4 weeks due to bradys. He's now mastering smiles, some little laughs, and holding his head up whe on his tummy. He's a happy little baby.
I don't post or lurk often but was lurking tonight so thought I would join in.
1. When is your LO(s) birthday and how old are they now? DS2: 10/9/09 - almost 3yr old
2. Birth weight/length and gestational age at birth? 5lb. 3.2oz; 35wk, 5d
3. Why did you deliver early? No movement/failed all monitoring tests (NST, acoustical stimulation, BPP) - sent placenta to lab and found a blood clot where the placenta and umbilical cord met (we assume this caused a lack of oxygen which caused the lack of movement)
4. Updates on how your LO(s) is doing now? DS2 was diagnosed with CP (cerebral palsy) at just shy of 10mos old. He has been wearing glasses since just shy of 10mos old also. There was no NICU time but did stay 1 extra day in the hospital to make sure he could maintain his body heat. In general his health is fine but he is delayed in gross motor, fine motor, and speech (due to the CP) and has therapies in each plus feeding and also does hippotherapy. He is a funny little guy, very social, seems cognitively fine, and is into singing and throwing balls currently.
1. When is your LO(s) birthday and how old are they now? DS was born 1/18/12 and is about 7 months and 1 week. His adjusted age is 6 months.
2. Birth weight/length and gestational age at birth? BW was 4 lbs, 10.5 oz and length was 16.5 inches. He was born at exactly 35 weeks. So not a preemie like many on this board.
3. Why did you deliver early? Pre-e and I was diagnosed with oligohydramnios at 21 weeks. And although well-controlled, I'm a Type 1 diabetic and have pre-existing hypertension.
4. Updates on how your LO(s) is doing now? He's doing so well. He is still a little peanut at 14 lbs at 7 months. He had issues gaining weight early on and at 4 months, he was diagnosed with milk and soy protein allergies. Now he's on Elecare formula (had to stop EP) and is doing well. But developmentally, he's fine. So much fun!

Absent diastolic flow and IUGR. Baby showed signs of distress so out she came.
