Boy or Girl?

To all the Moms that have children already...

How were your pregnancies with your boy OR your girl?

Were you really sick?  Throwing up?

My sister-in-law has two boys and my mother in-law has two boys and neither of them were very sick with their pregnancies.  Both said they maybe threw up once.  I have been sick as a dog and can't even count the number of times I've thrown up.  So, it just makes me wonder...am I having a girl?  I'd be happy with boy or girl but it just has me curious!

  • I went boy, girl, boy, girl.  I haven't ever thrown up with pg (unless you count the time I was carsick and then we had the pukies with #4).  I never had m/s with any of them either, though I had some diet related nausea with #3 and #4 really early on.  This time I've been soooo freaking nauseous.  From 6-9w I could barely get off the couch most days.  So yeah, I guess I don't really fit the mold.  One of my friends went girl, girl, boy and she never had any m/s with any.  Another friend went boy, boy, girl, boy, boy, girl, and is pg with a boy and she says she throws up until about 16w every time.

  • I was constantly throwing up with DD. I basically survived on popsicles and McDonald's french fries from 6 weeks until 15-ish weeks. That said, there are many women who have boys and were sick all the time when they were pregnant.

You have a friend that is on to her 7th baby? WOW! That is pretty amazing.

  • This is baby number two for me and I feel just as sick as I felt the first time.  First baby was a boy.  I have been on Zofran since week 6.

  • I am so sick this time around, with my son i was not sick at all... maybe its a girl?
  • Me too! I think if it was this rough the first time I would have needed some persuading to have another.
  • I had no m/s with DD, but was EXHAUSTED the first tri- and actually probably up to week 15 or 16. I specifically remember being in bed watching TV one night and my husband was like, "It's 10PM! You're still awake!" I've had no m/s with this one either, but some small waves of ickyness. Anyway, I have a friend who has two girls who had completely different pregnancies. I think it's fun to guess, but don't really rely on past pregnancies to dictate what the sex of a current pregnancy is. That said, I totally think another girl for me, just because that would be payback from God for being such a terrible kid. LOL.

Yes!!  They are amazing.  He's coming pretty soon too, she's already showing signs of his arrival.  I'm so excited for them!  They are dh's and my earthly inspiriation.

Haha!!!  My 6yo dd is a huge drama queen (and also so sweet) and dh always teases me and says he's certain I was exactly the same.  lol

  • With my DD I was sick from weeks 6 - 16. My sister swears you are sicker with girls. However, I know several people who were not sick with their first boy and then really sick with their 2nd and thought it was a girl and then turned out it was another boy. Also, I have known several sick with their first and not with their second and had two girls. So, I guess you really just can't tell.

  • This will be #4 for me and so far I've been the sickest with my son.

  • I had slight nausea with my DS, and was more exhausted than anything. This pg is pretty similar. I was slightly sicker, but not by much. Food aversions with both, and nausea gone by 10 weeks. I'm still exhausted though.I think another boy maybe, but who knows. Be nice to have a baby girl this time, but I'd be thrilled with either of course.
