LO is one month old as of yesterday, and it is so much better having a one month old than a one week old. He's more alert, more engaged, better at breastfeeding, better at sleeping (even though he'd rather be awake) and so much more enjoyable. Plus the breastfeeding process is better, as well as our routine and even our nights - he gets up twice a night, but my body is learning how to adjust. When he cries and goes nuts, it's for a more fixable reason - he's tired, or hungry, or his foot is uncomfortable, or he's lonely, as opposed to the newborn's totally random screaming.
Just wanted to let those with newborns know that it does get better!!
Re: One month is better than one week
Thanks for this post, OP!
I appreciate you sharing this, Joi! I've been looking at it completely wrong (I'll blame it on the hormones!) because it keeps making me weepy/sad to think she won't be tiny long. It also doesn't help that people keep making comments about how she'll be in kindergarten before I know it. Again, thanks hormones! Your comment makes me realize there's so much to look forward to.
Sing it, sister! They just feel a little sturdier, too. I'm not as afraid of breaking her. Every tiny little noise doesn't startle me. There's a certain sense of relief.
