In a couple hours, I go for my second endoscopy in 3 months. My new GI is going to biopsy my esophagus since most of my problems seem to stem from that. I've been having contractions in my esophagus making it feel like I'm having a heart attack and I've been having a difficult time swallowing breads/pastas and sometimes even chicken if it's dry. Basically I've been living on salad, fruit and nachos (for some reason chips do not bother me).
A little backstory: My old GI did one in May and checked nothing with my esophagus because when he did it was 100% convinced I have acid reflux even though I don't have the typical symptoms. When the endoscopy showed nothing, he gave me 2 new Rx's- I asked if they were pregnancy safe and he said, 'They should be.' Took them to the pharmacy and they weren't. Obviously I high-tailed it out of there and asked my RE for the best GI he knew of, and here I am!

Sending T&P's your way! I had one done last fall although I also had a colonoscopy at the same time. I'm assuming they're knocking you out for it?
I hope it goes well and you get some answers. It sounds like the new GI is proactive and has your best interests in mind. Update us when you can!

BFP on Cycle 17 09/27/12. EDD 06/04/12! Please Stick Baby! A/S 01/22/13 Baby looking great. Officially TEAM BLUE! Jack is getting a Baby Brother! RCS scheduled for 05/29/13. William Daryll born at 9:59am on 05/29/13. Left ovary and tube removed due to peach sized tumor found during RCS. Pathology came back benign!
Yes, I'm being knocked out for it! I'm a little nervous about that because I'm getting ready to start a new cycle and when I do, I get a little **TMI** diarrhea
and I'm paranoid I'm gonna go all over the table when I'm asleep, lol. I sure hope not

Diagnosed w/ endometriosis 12/2010 Laproscopic surgery & 6 months of Lupron
BFP 12/17/2011,EDD 8/23/12,ectopic discovered 12/29/11 at 6 weeks recieved methotrexate
Dec '12 HSG & ultrasound showed abnormalities & more endo. Laproscopic surgery in January '13 showed significant damage & scar tissue from Endo. IVF is our best shot to concieve our rainbow.
June '13 Decided to go the adoption route!

First off good luck! I wanted to offer what knowledge we have about something similar. My DH gets an EGD every 3 months for swelling. He has it ballooned open every time. What he has is called Eosinophilic Esophagitis. And from what you are describing that should be something they should do a biopsy for. He was told by another doc over 15 years ago that it was something else, well when I got him to go to this doc imagine what we fel thearing something else. I have had to throw him over the couch 3 times for choking. Bring this up to your doc and see what he/she says. GL!!!
