    Siggy Warning

First off good luck! I wanted to offer what knowledge we have about something similar. My DH gets an EGD every 3 months for swelling. He has it ballooned open every time. What he has is called Eosinophilic Esophagitis. And from what you are describing that should be something they should do a biopsy for. He was told by another doc over 15 years ago that it was something else, well when I got him to go to this doc imagine what we fel thearing something else.  I have had to throw him over the couch 3 times for choking. Bring this up to your doc and see what he/she says. GL!!!

That sounds like what they did biopsy for... I know it was ----something---- esophagitis, just can't remember what!  Thank you for sharing that piece of info Smile

  • Thank you all so much for the T&Ps!

I am finally home!  The report my GI gave me said everything **looks** normal, but they still performed the biopsy of my esophagus.  And if you all saw my comment to jenn0021- thank goodness, I did not poop on the table while I was asleep, lol.  My GI said to call if I haven't heard in 10 days for the biopsy results and to continue meds (Nexium, 2x/day) for now.

Since I haven't had a cycle since June 19, the nurse asked me if I could be pregnant and I said no.  Then when she asked if I was sure (she was super sweet, just doing her job) I had to explain the lap, my ectopic, that I knew when I'd O'd and that we'd abstained.  Then the anesthesiologist came in and asked me the same question.  However, when I explained it to her, she asks if I was an IF patient because most people have no clue when they O.  We got to talking and she sees my RE!  Small world, but it felt nice to talk to a random stranger about IF instead of pregnancy.

  • BEB....... Let me know what your biopsy says. My DH actually goes again tomorrow becuase he cannot swallow chicken again. I forgot to tell you that he is on prednisone (sspelling) around the clock for it. They have said that it can mess up your colon as well. Its like an inflamed area sprouts up and causes issues. Like a food allergy. Did they have you do testing for that? GI doc him to an allergy doc for testing to. The EE can be cause by chicken, milk and something else. Let me know. Im glad the procedure went well :)

That is very interesting!  My GI mentioned it could be a food allergy.  I actually went to an allergist and she said she didn't think I had food allergies and only tested me for seasonal.  I am lactose intolerant, so dairy is already reduced to small portions a day so I don't get sick.  That's interesting about the chicken though, I noticed the difficulty with chicken well after I noticed difficulty swallowing breads and pastas.
