Are baby teeth like puppy teeth?

I know, stupid question.  But B just got her first tooth and the thing is all kinds of jagged and pointy.  That's normal right?

ps, Panda and all those moms of BF biters out there, you deserve a medal.  She got me to tear up biting my arm with only one tooth!

Re: Are baby teeth like puppy teeth?

  • They are sharp.  My DH said the same thing last might when LO bit him.

Funny, that's what my nipple looks like when she gets done nursing. Sad

haha... I know the feeling. E's definitely a biter when she nurses.  I just can't PIP my nipple....  not that I have a picture of that anyway.  LOL

Oh my gosh!  I was a biter until I was like 5, I feel like I should call up my old preschool friends and apologize.

It's amazing she didn't... one time she did when nursing.  It wasn't pretty.  Lots of crying... me from the pain.  Her from getting scared when I instinctively yelled.

What's up with that?!  The other day she bit me in front of DH, I took my breast back, said "Ouch! No bite!" firmly, not loud, not yelling at all, and then I got the puckered out bottom lip and huge cryfest.  DH laughed and said he couldn't believe I'm the one who gets bitten and she's the one crying.

LO does the same thing. She's only bitten me a handful of times but that firm (not loud) "No" sends her into hysterics. I'm like "Kid, I'm the one with a throbbing nipple!"

I think it's pretty amazing that you two get bitten on a regular basis and continue to nurse. I don't know that I could do that. (that sh!t hurts!)

I'm thinking they are just like puppy teeth.  I think her bottom ones aren't as sharp as the top though.

My biggest problem with her teeth is she's got bugs bunny humungo top teeth.  They leave impressions and dents in my nipple, no matter how many times I try to adjust the latch. This is worse than the beginning months when she had a bad latch.

::chants to herself:: two more months, two more months, I can do it!!

L is about to cut her first top tooth and I am so. scared.  She only bites occasionally while nursing and it hurts with just her bottom teeth. You mamas who are bitten on a regular basis deserve medals!

I think A is going to cut his top two teeth together and I am dreading it. It is painful enough when he bites during nursing with his bottom teeth. I can't imagine how much the pain will increase when the top teeth are there too!

DS does the same thing when I tell him not to bite. His lip quivers and he looks so sad when he cries. It makes me feel bad but the biting has got to stop!

  • Yes, Owen's teeth are super sharp and jagged too.  He has 8 teeth and *loves* to bite me!

With all of the teeth Owen has, he could probably bite my nipple off if I were nursing.

  • DD's teeth on the bottom look pretty normal, but the top ones are all kinds of weird looking! She came up behin me yesterday and bit the back of my thigh while I was washing dishes. I screamed and she sobbed. I hope she doesn't bite anyone at daycare!

Haha... I'm so afraid of this.  E has 9 teeth.... I think some of my supply issues are because I have so much anxiety about my nipples getting bitten off.
