When people guess your LO's age, do they usually guess right on, older, or younger than LO's actual age?
When we are out and about strangers seem surprised when I say Vito is 12 months. They think he is younger and always say things like "oh, he's just a little guy." I don't think he is particularly small. He's about 23 pounds and 31 inches tall - so average-ish for a one year old, right? I think it is his lack of hair on top (he rocks the Kentucky Waterfall/mullet/biz up front, party in the back look). I don't care that people think he is small because I assume they either don't know about babies or forget what their babies were like at this age. Just wondering how people perceive your LOs.
Re: Strangers guessing LO's age
Always younger. She's smallish for her age though, 19lbs.
My two boys are getting a surprise May 2015!
**Siggy Challenge What You're Looking Forward to Most after Baby Arrives**
Usually this is true, but last week at the grocery store a lady with her 9ish month old daughter said, "Wow, how does he sit up so well in the cart like that?" She had her baby in the infant car seat (perched on the cart too
). She thought he was only 6 or 7 months old. I was like "what??"
I've only had 1 elderly lady make a completely inaccurate guess. DD was 11 months at the time and the lady guessed she was 4-5 months old. To be fair, DD was in my Ergo and we were seated on a bus so I'm sure that made it a little harder to guess, but I think maybe the lady was senile.
She's in the 97th percentile for height and 75th percentile for weight and most people guess her age pretty well by looking at her. She definitely looks like a toddler now.

BFP!! 8/29/16 --> EDD: 5/11/17....it's a GIRL!!!
This. LO is still only 18 lbs.
They always think he's older, and I can't blame them because not many little boys have this much hair after 4 haircuts at 12 months!
ETA: But size wise he's not big. He's 22.5# and the nurse said 29.5 inches I swear she was way off because she also measured our niece a few days later at 31" and Ty's a few inches taller than Avery!
Older. Always older. Someone guessed TWO a couple weeks ago. I thought she was nuts, but then someone else last week guessed 19 or 20 months. His pedi told me to be careful, because if people think he is older they will expect more from him and then that could be a bad situation
DS is 21.5 pounds, 31.5 inches. DS is in the 95th percentile for height, 40th percentile for weight. So he's not small, really. He's tall and thin. Which probably could make him look older since kids start to thin out when they get older.
I do think it's funy though. Because to me, DS is a normal one year old. And I wonder what the heck kind of two years other people are around if they think he's that old!
That happened to Isaac too - they measured him at 32.5 inches, which would be the 98th percentile. Then my husband measured him with a tape measure because he didn't believe it, and he was 29 inches. Personally I think he's somewhere between that, but he is very hard to measure these days!
I don't know why people bother guessing babies ages, b/c it seems to me they are always off!
They usually guess she is younger, because she's little (19lbs) and if we're at a playground they can see she isn't walking.
I think Isabella looks older. She has a very mature looking face. And of course she's absolutely beautiful

Audrey is smaller than your "little guy" and people thing she's huge! At her 1 year check up, she was 20 pounds and 29.5 inches. People ask me how old she is and they are shocked when I say 1. They think she's closer to 2 or say something about she's "such a big girl." I think it's just because she walks so well and loves to babble. Maybe that makes her seem older??
Older because of all his hair!
I guess because shes tall and thin, she looks even taller. Plus, she has been walking since 8months and has a lot of hair, so people usually think she's older. One time when were out to eat when LO was only 9 months, so douche bartender thought she was 2 years old. DH was like, "um... no." Ha.
Older...He is a pretty big boy though...he was almost 33' and 27 lbs at his 1 yr check-up. When he was 9-11 months people kind of assumed he was like 2 and would ask why he still drank from a bottle, had a binkie...I had to constantly tell people he wasn't even a year. Then people say oh wow he's a big boy.
