  • Sprite and most lemon lime pop now makes me feel sick so I've been drinking vanilla coke when I have a pop. I have a coworker who speaks an octave above her normal speaking voice when she asks how someone's day is going and for some reason it is grating on my nerves.

I am jealous at times of women who have C sections scheduled. They know exactly when their baby is coming. Plus, they can plan and have a babysitter ready to go if this is not their 1st.

I feel this way, too. And then I feel so guilty over it.

My hospital won't let me do a repeat c-section until 39 weeks, and I've been stressed about this because my water broke at 37w5d with DS.  I know this one is going to come early too, so I'm worried about where/when it's going to happen and what we'll do with DS.  I was hoping that it could all be planned out this time, but I know baby will come when she wants to and I feel bad wishing I could schedule an earlier c-section at like 38 weeks....just please don't be while I'm at work!

My FFFC isn't really juicy. Sorry to disappoint.

My doctor said, "no news is good news" regarding my glucose test, and it's been a week, so I feel like it's safe to say I passed---so to celebrate I've been eating crap all week.

I feel like I'm going to give myself GD because I'm so happy that I don't have GD.

Haha, me too. Also in the "no news = good news" camp--I took my test almost 2 weeks ago and haven't heard anything so I'm guessing all was well. I totally made a day-late American Flag cake last night. I did *try* to invite people to share, but by try I mean I sent an email at like 11am yesterday... so we'll be enjoying those cake leftovers for a few days! I was just laughing to myself as I poured the cup and a half of sugar into the bowl for the cake ;)

I love Vanilla coke!! Haven't had one in forever because they only sell it in 12 packs where I live. Boooo

I want this baby to come early.  Not early as in, unhealthy and dangerously early, but I'm ready.

I keep saying that I hope that he comes at a "healthy" early date, only because if the next 2 months are anything like what I've been feeling for the last 3 weeks, I'm done-done-done.

  • I'm overly excited that DD has latched on to my favorite name choice (that DH isn't wild about).  I'm hoping it tips the scales in my favor.  Seriously, when her little voice thanks God for "little bitty baby Lorelai in Mommy's belly", how can he say that's not the baby's name? Wink

You could tell her that Kate was sleeping with the doll and her diaper leaked poo on it, so you had to throw it out.

When all else fails, blame the child. That's why they're there! Wink

  • My FFFCs are the same as PPs:

I love my cat and dog.  They are spoiled, eat premium (crazy expensive) food, have more treats and toys than is probably necessary, and we had our last dog on cancer treatment meds for 3 years after her surgery before she passed. I am sure the love I feel for my son will be eons more than what I feel for my pets but I'm not chucking my pets once he's born.

I'm VERY afraid of L&D.  I don't want to say why--nobody needs to hear the story but its bad.  I know the chances of having a healthy baby are so much more in my favor but I am freaked none the less.

I've been doing more bumping than work all week. Shame! But I don't feel any. Embarrassed

I've been eating a lot of sugar lately since I passed my one-hour test. Plus I had tacquitos with guacomole and fries for dinner last night. Uh-oh, scales gonna tip on Tuesday! BTW whenever I eat this meal I sleep sooooo good.  So today I'm feeling pretty spry.

I got totally frustrated with my husband this morning because, when he took the laundry basket down to the basement for me like I requested, he yet again just chucked stuff into the washer all willy-nilly. I've asked him repeatedly to please separate stuff if he's going to throw it into the wash, but this load was a mix of whites, towels, brights, and darks. I know I should shut up and be grateful that he's helping without so much as a peep of complaint, but holy hell, how many times do I have to explain the concept of SORTING LAUNDRY to the man?!

We have laundry instructions posted in the laundry room that I wrote for DH (at his request).

He has even learned to air-dry all of my maternity clothes, sweaters and other things.

But there are tons of things (not-laundry-related) that he fails to do correctly, and these days it irritates me to no end.

Examples: Fixing the couch cushions, arranging the coffee table, cleaning in general, etc.

The other day I asked him to clean up an area in what's going to be the baby's room (that room is currently his self-proclaimed man-cave) and he separated it into piles and then started watching TV.

He definitely got nagged for that, and I don't like being a nagging wife, but HOLYSHIT. How hard it is to just put things where they go? Trash goes to the trash, things that belong at work should go in a bag so you can take it to work on Monday, etc.

And, no one's really talking about how they're going to handle things while I'm out, which makes me nervous. It's like people at work are avoiding talking about the fact that I'll be out for 7-8 weeks this fall, and it almost makes me wonder if they're considering replacing me while I'm gone. I know FMLA is supposed to protect me, but I'm still paranoid.

Ditto, without the replacement thing.  I think people really don't realize how much random crap I do around here. Maybe that's my confession- I'm excited to ditch out for 3 months so people will understand just how much I do.

    This is exactly me too!!!

UGH, MH's inability to do things properly irritates me to no end, though I am trying very hard to lighten up because it's all such stupid sh*t to get annoyed over.

The laundry, however, is important (given the potential for ruined clothing) so I've just learned to separate things for him if he's doing the laundry.

I don't even allow my husband to touch the washer.  We just got a new washer and dryer, and I am terrified he is going to mess it up.  For instance, a couple of weeks ago, he took all of the towels out of our hamper and threw them into the washer.  It was way too big of a load.  He was like, "Oh?" I mean, really? I always do our laundry on the weekend, but on rare occasion he will need a pair of shorts washed and he does it himself.  He just takes a handful of clothes out of his hamper and throws them in - whites, darks, and lights - all together in one load.  Whatever!

My FFFC is when I am riding in the car with someone and they always have to say whatever we just passed. I took my sister to a doctor's appointment on Monday and every restraunt we passed she would say "There's DQ. There's Taco Bell. See down there on that road? That's how you get to McDonald's." It was annoying me so bad. lol

  • I may have outdone myself on this today:

    1) I just made cupcakes and I think I took in more batter than anything :p

2)FIL got us tickets to a baseball game (not my idea) I don't want to go,even though it's not until 7pm,it doesn't take much for me to be overheated.

3)Along with the above issue I do NOT get along with FIL's Gf.Shes so bull-headed and I lost all respect for her when she couldn't even show up to my baby shower for fear of "being alone". DH and I know that was BS considering she has met my family and we would have both been there. She shows no interest unless DH Or FIL is around and I see the fake side of her.His Side hasn't even bought anything for DS,they are better off than my side of the family! My parents went broke and I'm now stocked up on everything I basically need! Me,heat, and her tonight might be interesting.

    4) I have 9 weeks left and I'm already wanting baby out.Between always being tired and him digging into my ribs (because I'm so short). I just want to see my baby boy and stop worrying about him in there when he slows movement (which I know is normal and is such a FTM thing to say) Kudos if you read all of this Wink

  • I got a bridal shower invitation in the mail on Tuesday with an RSVP date of yesterday.  Then yesterday, I got a text from the BTB asking if I was going and could I please RSVP.  Because I was asked for her contact info, I know that it took her over a week to RSVP to my baby shower.  So now I am ignoring her until Sunday.  The shower's not until the end of the month.  She can sweat it out a few days.

That being said, I'm starting to have a really hard time even getting interested in sex. DH has been looking particularly attractive lately, and my brain goes, "Hm, we should jump him," but body goes, "um, with this baby kicking around, you want to start bumping uglies? That's creepy. You should feel bad." I'm having such a hard time overcoming the psychological issues that I physically can't get turned on because my brain is all over the place.

I'm having a similar mental/emotional struggle, but more so thinking about after the baby comes. I worry about still being able to tap into sexy wife mode while also being a mommy. The two things feel so separate to me (ironic--since one can't happen without the other...).

In other FFFCs, I am totally watching Wimbledon at work today. Yay for live streaming! And my excuse is that even with the a/c, I NEED to put my feet up b/c I can already feel them swelling with this heat!

Woohoo Wimbledon! I was there in 2006, and wish I could go back. FFFC, I called in sick to work today because it's just too hot to cook in our daycares unairconditioned kitchen. I am currently hanging out at my mom's, watched Wimbledon, and hanging out at the pool.

  • Add me to the bra list. Sometimes, I'm like, "Oh wow, I haven't washed this in an embarrassingly long amount of time.

If my bra gets sweaty, it's a different story, but I'm not a sweaty person, so it's really not a problem.

2 - It already feels like mompetition on here at times, and I'm sure it's only going to get worse. I think my parenting style is going to differ a lot from the majority of people on this board.  It's easy to brush off comments about TTC or being pregnant, but as a FTM,  I think I'll be sensitive when it comes to my decisions on how to raise my child.  My options will be to either keep quiet on here, or speak my mind and constantly get flamed. Neither seems beneficial.

Don't fully leave Unem!  I honestly thought the same thing as you, but I really could not have raised Lulu (or gotten through any of the "OMG I'm worried is this a normal thing that she's doing" moments) without my BMB.  I'm not on it as much, but I'm still close friends with a lot of those women - some I've met, and some I haven't but really want to.

Anita, I love you, but I totally picture you getting pissed off at posts like these!

I'll play it by ear, but I don't think I'll be as active either way.  I'm FB friends with some ladies and stalk a few blogs to keep up.  Speaking of which, do you FB friend internet people?  I'd love to stalk you.

  • I've been waiting for this all day!! I know I'm gonna get a lot of sh*t for it but here goes...

I hate ppl who think that being a SAHM is a "job" - and I'm not saying it's not hard work, I'd imagine it's the hardest thing ever, but I hate those ppl that think it's a job because I truly think it's a privilege, one that I would love to have but unfortunately can't.

I just think when u say something is your "job", it immediately has a negative connotation, cuz who actually likes their job? Maybe some ppl, but not to many, and hard as it may be to raise children, I'd rather be at home with my kids all day then go to work...

I'm the same way! I'm glad I'm not alone. I've been wondering how it's all going to work out. MH and I have discussed when I'm feeding her, he can be giving our dog attention. Our dog is very spoiled, so I know this will be a huge adjustment for him!

This is really bad. I would never ever ever say this out loud IRL, but here it goes. A great aunt spent months making a homemade quilt for the baby. I very much appreciate all the time and effort she put into making it, but it is not cute at all. I hate that she worked so hard on it. It's one of those Dutch girl quilts made with pink and white gingham checks. It's also not soft at all. I just don't see it getting much use and I'm not displaying it anywhere.

I wouldn't feel bad. That's the risk people take when they make a gift for others. I would keep it stashed if you're ever expecting her to come over, and only pull it out when she's there.

When we got married, this lady from our church made us this massive crocheted blanket, and it's HIDEOUS, all caps necessary. It's currently stored away in a closet, but I'm getting rid of it before LO gets here. It takes up too much space and there's been a falling out with that lady, so I've decided it's not worth hanging on to.

I hope someone at Goodwill likes it.
