Cozy Coupe ?

I am thinking about buying the pink cozy coupe for the big first birthday gift. Anyone know if I can get it cheaper than the listed price? DD is walking - will this appeal to her or is it a toy she will have to grow into? How long will she be interested in it? It is seriously cute. Oh one last thing, is it easy to put together? Thanks!

  • We got it for our middle dd for her second birthday and she loves it. Your dd might like to play in it, but I don't think she will be able to work it by her self. As far as growing into it. My 4 yr old and 2 year old play with it daily. Our 11 month old loves for her oldest sister to push her around the house in it.

As far as putting it together, MY DH got super frustrated trying to put it together, but I was able to do it in about an hr by myself on Christmas morning. It wasn't to bad.

  • We got one for our DS years ago when he was two. It's super easy to put together. At first he loved getting in and out just to shut the door. Like pp said he didn't actually use it until 3 or 4.
  • We got DS one for his 2nd bday. My brother put it together pretty quickly. She may have to grow into a little. My son started out just climbing in/out & walking behind it pushing but he enjoyed it a lot. He's almost 4 now & still plays with it occasionally but prefers his tricycle & bicycle. His friends who don't have one at home love it when they come over & I know his younger brother will love it too when he gets a little bigger.

I got ours new on sale for $25 from walmart but I haven't seen them that cheap since. I've kicked myself for not buying a couple of them for gifts at that price but I didn't know how expensive they usually were. I'd look for a used one in good condition on craiglist or something first, but if you can't find one cheaper I think it's worth the regular price as her big 1st bday gift. She'll get a lot of use out of it.

My parents bought DS one for his birthday - he loves it. If you read the reviews on-line, the one drawback most people say is that it is a *** to put together. My parents agreed - and with 4 kids they are used to putting a shitton of toys together. My dad said he wished he would have just paid the $20 to have somebody do it.

As for longevity, it's pretty popular in our neighborhood - it seems every kid has one and they all range in age. I see the 1 year olds playing with it as frequently as the 3 and 4 year olds.

  • We just bought this for our son. He loves it- we use it for walks.
