Hey ladies,
I have one of these on my registry - when solids start getting introduced, I want to try to make my own food - I have several friends who do this and swear by it - stating it's a little more economical and LO's seem to take not be as picky of eaters later down the road. Most use blenders, etc., one uses the baby bullet and loves it. They will freeze food for future and feed on demand at times...
Anyone have one of these? Do this? Plan to do this?

I had one on my registry as well and received one at my baby shower. It looks like a pretty neat/cute product. Not necessarily something I'd buy myself but gladly accepted as a gift!
I also don't currently have a Magic Bullet/food processor...so I figured I might as well get the cute one because I know I'll get a lot of use out of it. It comes with a feeding chart by age/weight and has a recipe book.
I'm a sucker for that kind of stuff though!
GENIUS! What a great idea! I'll be doing this for sure.
Love the feedback ladies! I have ice trays on my registry too because all of the friends I spoke with do what you all seem to do - pour into ice trays, pop out once frozen and label them in the ziplock for future unthawing/feeding.
I think I may change to a regular food processor, since we don't have one either and think it would probably serve more purposes. Thanks again!
Agreed! My sister got me a few jars of baby food when a local store closed last month and it doesn't expire until April next year, so I'll use it for LO. Now I know what to do for storage/traveling with food to save money...keep those jars!!!
i recently bought one of these, i think it's such a good idea!
i love that it comes with little storage containers, and silicone popsicle cups
i'm so excited to turn our family meal into baby's meal as well!
I have the regular Bullet, got it as a Christmas gift just before I started DS2 on solids. Loved it for making his food, and it came in handy for me as well. In the early weeks when I didnt necessarily have two hands to eat breakfast, I could whip up a smoothie and have that while I fed baby. I still use it for smoothies in the morning. Makes getting out the door with two kids much easier.
I don't have a food processor, so it isnt duplicating a kitchen appliance for me.
We didn't register for one but someone got one for us. I probably wouldn't have bought it but I think we'll keep it, since we never did plan on feeding the typical jarred stuff that they refer to as baby food! I'd rather feed regular fruits and vegetables that are unprocessed and as fresh as possible (although I have to admit to really enjoying the jars of pureed fruits, myself... seriously, the bananas! The bananas!)
We sort of have a food processor but it's this very old, tiny little thing that just chops stuff up. The bullet will come in handy for sure. I'm probably going to break it out soon and test it myself.

Here is an interesting website about this:

What did you use to "puree" the food? Milk/Water? I am planning on breastfeeding, so do I just add some of that in there? Thanks!
We used a steamer basket ($5) and the food processor we already owned. No need for any fancy baby food making gadgets. If you don't have any type of blender already, I'd go with the regular bullet as opposed to the baby one.
I made pretty large quantities of food at once and anything smaller than my regular sized food processor would have been a pain b/c I would have had to puree in so many batches.

I already have a food processor, so i'm just going to use that. I have everything i need for the steaming part as well.
i'm also buying icecube trays for easier storage. they make specialty ones that are roughly the size of a baby food jar i think (or maybe its half).
