I have been getting several items from garage sales recently, including a couple of stuffed animals. Some of these items will not go safely in the washing machine. This led me to the following question:
Is there a product that is safe for baby to ingest (I'm assuming he'll put his mouth on anything I use the product on) that will sterilize it, by spraying it on the item or by applying it in some other manner other than a washing machine, that is safe for fabric and plastic? What do you second-time moms use? What have you found vital to have for instant sterilization? Any advice regarding making things safe for baby is appreciated!
Re: Question for second-time moms?
For cleaning stuffed animals check out this showe in this episode the host of the shows how to clean stuffed animals. I only got to see part of it but I think she also talked about safe natural things to use everyday

Well, the main thing is, I bought a second-hand playmat that has some stuffed animal attachments (that make noise when they are messed with) and I'm trying to figure out how to sterilize those.
