Just curious! Our son is Max (Maximus). We met in a town called Kingston, fell in love here, etc. and it keeps rolling through my mind as a possible future name for baby #2. Love it or hate it? Or somewhere in between?
I like that it has significance to you and your DH, but I don't like that there is no good nn and I feel like Kingston is a "big" name that would need a nn.

Blech. Fine for a middle name but don't like it for a first name. Plus, you make it sound like you still live there? If so, NO. I think it's so weird when a Madison lives in Madison, Austin lives in Austin, etc.

I like it. I think a sib set Maximus and Kingston is powerful. If it didn't have a meaning to you I would be a little worried because Maximus you can use the nickname Max but it would be hard to find a nickname for Kingston. But especially since it has that meaning to you I really love it.

That's so FUNNY!!!
I'm having a girl this time around, but when we have a boy, his name is Kingston Maxwell!!!!
Maximus and Kingston just seem a bit...too much together. Maximus on its own is fine, and Kingston on its own is okay I guess, although nms, but together it seems like the parents are trying really hard to give their boys hyper-masculine names.
Being that I am from Jamaica, I LOVE it But I think it goes well with your other DS' name as well. I have known other people with it as a name that has a nn Tony.
With that said, it will always make me think of Gwen Stefani.
I know someone who named their son Kingston and she calls him King, it sounds very pretentious to me! I don't like it. It does remind me of Gwen Stefani too. I think since it has a meaning to you I would use it as a middle name.

Re: WDYT of the name Kingston?
It just sounds like it's trying too hard for me.
*Edit* and I'm not against naming a child after a place of significance (see DD's name) - but Kingston has that celeb-a-baby association.
I'm not a huge fan, but I like the idea of using it as a MN if it's paired with a traditional FN.

This. I agree with other PP's who suggested to use it as a MN maybe.
Mommy loves you Eevee!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!
TOTALLY disagree!!! Kingston is way too strong of a name to be a middle name!!!!!!!! I say name him Kingston and OWN IT!
(Kingston is 100% our boy's name!--we chose it together when we were first dating WAYYY before Gwen Stefani was even thinking of getting pregnant)
I love it! I think Kingston and Maximus go great together since they are both bold names.
Congrats!
Eh, I think it sounds a little pretentious.

Completely agree!
This. Can it be a middle name instead?

I love it even without the significance, but that just makes it even better. I say, go for it!
My husband and I fell in love in Cambridge, and tossed around the idea of using it as a middle name but just couldn't make it work for us.
