Re: Had our adopted embryos transferred!

  • Very cool!  I wouldn't be able to hold out on testing.  I've been through 2 failed IVF cycles and had lots of symptoms .. .  but you have many that I did not.  I think that's a good sign!

    Good luck!!

  • Congrats!  How exciting!

The 2WW is hard, but I POAS every day after transfer. I never could wait for the beta.

    Looking forward to update tomorrow.

oh, I used Quest Diagnostics for most of my labwork and mine did same day results as long as the doctor wrote "STAT" on the order form.  I had many many many STAT betas drawn over the years and they would run the tests within 4 hours.

TTC #1 for over 5 years - too many to count IF treatments (tried everything and anything), repeat miscarriages. Finally, Sticky Success!! B/G Twins arrived 2011. VOTE on my Name List Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker

  • HI!

My doctor wrote STAT on mine, but the Quest people told me they send out their tests, that they do not have the ability to do the tests in house Sad

But LabCorp said they can do it, so I will go there. At this point I am not sure that any amount of money could stop us!

Cant wait to tell ya'll the news!!

  • Thanks!

I am trying to read all the symptoms I can and see how many I actually have :)

I was a little paranoid because I did not have tender breasts...but I know it is different for everyone. Sorry about the failed IVF cycles, did you ever have success?

That darn progesterone really messes with you.

No success yet.  We have severe male factor.  Trying some new things and on a break for the summer.  We might look into embryo adoption or domestic adoption (again) later in the year.   It is such a roller coaster but parenthood, however it comes, is so worth it.

  • Amen to it all being worth it! We also have complete infertility due to male factor, that is why we choose EA, so we could experience pregnancy and save lives that potentially would be destroyed. I know that you guys will find the route that is best for y'all. I wish you all the best!!!

I'll definitely start reading your blog. I've been interested in embryo adoption for a while, and want to do it for #2. It's hard to find information about it, so I'm excited to be able to read about your journey.

Congrats on the transfer! I hope you get good news on Tues!

After 2years TTC and 1yr,2mo waiting for an adoption match, our blessing is here!

Just as a follow up... if you have more than 1 Quest by you, maybe call the other one.  We have several in my area and the quality of service does vary.

Luckily the Quest by my house had great customer service.  It did NOT process labwork in house either. They send it out. If it was STAT, that was OK too.  It didn't delay the process much.

When it said STAT on order, the receptionist would call for pickup right away when I first get there before the blood draw. The pickup was usually within the hour.  My dr would get the results in about 4 hours.

I don't know if all Quest labs work that way, but the one by my house handled it that way consistently over the course of several years for my test results.

Since Quest is covered by your insurance and if you need more than 2 betas drawn or need additional bloodwork, I would investigate further.

Fingers crossed for a + outcome today.  Please let us know!

  • Yay!!  I'm so happy for you!  We had our little miracle through embryo donation!  Poor egg quality led us to frozen embies.

We have practically no background information because we did it in the Czech Republic, but honestly it just makes life more interesting.  There is nothing quite like looking at that tiny person and wondering "where did that from?" when they do something hilarious.

  • Thanks,

I actually had a bad experience with LabCorp, which I will be writing about in my blog here soon because it is a long story!!

I will be going to a quest for my last test :(   ughh!

Basically I still dont know the results...I will let you all know when I know though!
