Just reading some of the stuff on the boards about "prelabor" makes me want to cry. I have pretty much stopped having BH or any kind of contraction for the last week or so, my mucus plug fell out weeks ago so it's probably back, no bloody show of any kind, I had one day of lightning crotch and that was it, and baby is still high because all of my kicks are right in the lungs! Everybody tells me "you're carrying the baby so high" and "Are you SURE he's head down, you don't look like you've dropped at all." I think I'd rather be called fat or some other inapporpriate pregnant lady comment than be told every day that this baby is probably going to be late. It doesn't help that my last OB appointment I was told I'm "closed up tight" and that she'd probably have to "pry the baby out". Gee thanks. I just wish I felt like I was getting SOMEWHERE since I'm 39 weeks today (ignore my ticker, I've been too lazy to change it). Sorry the heat is making me miserable and whiney.

With DS1, I never saw my mucous plug and DS never dropped. He still came. And before his EDD. My water broke and I checked into the hospital when I was not even 2 cm... Babies come!

Hugs. I know how you feel. I'm 3cm dilated, but my OB commented on how he's just content and happy as can be in there with no sign of coming out. So depressing. And being told, "He has to come out eventually" does not do anything to make me feel better!
Hopefully, this frustration is part of your hormone surge!

I just got back from my 39w doc appointment. No progress from last week - not dilated & still only 50% effaced (haven't lost my plug or anything). Told the doc that baby dropped this morning & he says she is still high. Then found out I won't see my regular OB until next Friday, which I'll be 40w4d. My jaw nearly hit the floor! Lol! I didn't even get an option as to when my appointment will be - that apparently was the first opening he had - and I haven't seen him since 37w!
So I'm still going with I'll have to be induced during my 41 week. I'm just gonna keep telling myself that.
I feel the same way - had a bit of a meltdown yesterday. My Mom has told me 3 times now that I'll probably go late just because 6 other people she knows went late, a friend of my Mom's keeps hoping I will have a 10 lb + baby just because she did (twice), and every time I answer the phone the first question I get is "Are you in labour yet'? Seriously people? Are you trying to make me angry?
To top it off it's middle of summer hot here and my hot water tank is broken so I can't even take a shower or a bath... Definitely one grumpy Mommy over here.
I'm soooo lucky to have the amazing DH I have... I have not been much fun last couple of days. Here's hoping our LOs come soon.
I totally feel your pain with these comments!! I have been carrying pretty high the entire time and people are like - you haven't dropped at all. I just half smile and say, actually, believe it or not, I have dropped some. Seriously people - are you carrying this baby, feel the heartburn I have, feel where it kicks and where it lays - I don't thinks so - so shut your mouth!! Sorry - it just gets so old! And a lot of times, people - especially FTMs (which I am) don't drop til the baby is coming!!
