We are planning a trip to see DH's grandma and I need a few things to do with my kids who will be just turned 3 and almost 1. I'm looking into the zoo, is there anything else you can recommend??

Re: Anyone live near Springfield, OH??
My entire family lives in Dayton, OH. When we go to visit them we always visit Boonshoft Museum of Discovery. Great children's museum! Young's Dairy Farm in Yellow Springs is also fun. There are also several splash parks (in small parks) that are free. We really like the one near Polen Farm on Bigger Rd. in Dayton (I think it's called Kennedy Park??).
The Wright Patterson Air Force base is also fun to visit.
In Huber Heights, they are opening the Kroger Aquatic Center. It looks like it's going to have stuff to do for all ages. The PP, also had some great recommendations.
The Greene is an outdoor mall that may be worth your stop too!
Yes, I second Young's Dairy. It is very close to Springfield. They have putt putt and a petting zoo, as well as restaurants and ice cream.
We have been to the Columbus Zoo twice this week already. It is about 45 min-1 hr from Springfield. Our kids love it. Of course, there is lots of shopping in Columbus too. They also have COSI, downtown, but we prefer the Boonshoft, in Dayton, that the other poster mentioned.
Springfield has a pool/waterpark, but it probably won't open until Memorial Day weekend.
If you go north 20-30 minutes, there is Ohio Caverns, but yours might be too young to enjoy that.
Let me know if you have more questions.
