Hi Ladies,
I went for my first u/s last Friday, I thought I was 7 wks 2 days based off my LMP, but the u/s technician measured baby at 6 wks 2 days with a heart rate of 98 bmp.
My doctor ordered a follow up u/s for today ( one wk later), we were praying for baby to have grown and a stronger heart beat but the u/s showed the baby still at 6 wks 2 days with the same 98bpm heart rate.
Doc said to come back in 10 days for a follow up u/s but due to no growth and a low heart beat, chances are I will miscarry;( So far I haven't had any cramping or bleeding.
This is my first pregnancy and dh and I are in total shock. Has anyone had a similar situation where your baby stopped growing but there was still a heart beat? And how long did it take until you miscarried?
I really appreciate any responses,
Thanks so much and I am very sorry for all your losses;(
Re: Baby has stopped growing but still heart beat @ 98bpm
BFP #1: 4/7/12. EDD: 12/2/12.
Growth on target with h/b at 6w3d. No h/b at 8w4d. D&C 4/27/12.
BFP #2: 2/28/13. M/C 5w1d.
I had an ultrasound at 5 weeks 4 days with a heartrate of 92, I had another 10 days later and the baby only grew to 6 weeks (i should have been measuring 8 weeks) and heartrate dropped to 70 (at this point I knew in my heart it was gone, DH was so hopeful that things would turn), another ultrasound 4 days later and babys heart stopped. It was so hard knowing that the poor little thing was declining while in my belly. In the end I chose Mistoprostol instead of waiting to pass it naturally (I didn't want it to happen at my disgusting bathroom at work) or having a D&C. That was in January. Now I have a pregnancy that just isn't developing, I have a gestational sac and yolk but no fetal pole, and again I should be 8 weeks, so next week when i have my final ultrasound to confirm I will do the Mistoprostol again.
I'm so sorry you have to go through this, it's absolutely awful, don't pay attention to the stupid things people say, most of them are trying to help.
I'll send you lots of prayers that your little one has a growth spurt.
I'm so sorry you're going through this. I had a blighted ovum, so there was never any fetal pole or heartbeat, but it also felt pretty drawn out. I really hope for your sake that things turn out well, but if not, then we're here for you. And as someone else said - just try not to take it to heart if people say things that hurt you. They usually mean well and just don't know what to say.
