I was induced due to his size, labored at 10 cm for over 6 hrs and he never came down into birth canal= csection. He was 11.3 lbs so I am so grateful he didn't drop!

  • I labored for 27 hours and pushed for over 2 hours.  I spiked a fever which made a c section the best option to prevent infection to the baby.  He was projected to be 7.5 lbs but was actually 9.7 lbs. I could have pushed all day...he wasn't coming out.  Just wish I knew that about 26 hours prior!

  • I was induced with DS1 due to borderline pre-e and after 18 hours of hard labor, I never made it past 3cm.  My OB gave me the option of having an epi and waiting 7 more hours or to have a c/s right then.  I opted for c/s because after all of that time with no progress, I couldn't take handle it anymore (emotionally) plus the pain was unbearable.  The OB re-assured me that I made the right choice because he definitely wasn't coming out vaginally.  She noticed that he was "stuck" in my pelvic area.  My bones didn't expand like they were supposed to, plus he was facing sunny side up and the cord was wrapped tightly around his ankle (high up near my chest).

With DD, my OB didn't give me the option of a VBAC because once she saw how small my pelvic area was, she thought it was best that I didn't risk it.  With DS2 (now), my new OB said "three strikes and you're out!"  So, another rcs for me.

Although I am afraid of the dangers of uterine rupture, I am secretly hoping to spontaneously go into labor on my own within the next two weeks or so.  This is my last baby and a part of me feels like I want to know what natural labor and a vaginal delivery is like... but - it's very unlikely that it will happen.

  • DD1 was born vaginally, at 9lb0z.

DD2/DS were born via scheduled c-section.  DD2, the presenting twin, was breech.  My OBs would have done an external version on a breech Baby B, but since Baby A was breech I didn't have a choice.

  • I had a scheduled c-section at 37 weeks 2 days due to complete placenta previa.

If I have a second kid, the ob mentioned that I could go for a VBAC assuming the placenta is more appropriately positioned. My c/s and recovery were so easy I may just go that route again, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

  • I have a heart condition in which my body cannot tolerate labor.

  • I had a scheduled c-section at 39w1d due to him being breech. I tried the Webster technique, inversions, playing music by my pelvis - he wouldn't budge.  The positive is that I still have no idea what a contraction feels like, and I was able to choose his birthday and the doctor in my practice that would be delivering him.

DD was induced at 41w3d and went into fetal distress during labor, so I had an emergency c/s.  DS was an elective RCS.
    DD born 10/10/07 * DS born 11/25/11 * #3 due 3/9/2015
  • I was taken for an emergency CS after my water broke at 35 weeks. DD was breech, with the cord wrapped around her foot! Once they got in there they also found out that I have a under developed uterus (its heart shaped I guess!) so I will always have a breech, early baby!

  • DDs heat rate would drop to 60 with every contraction. She was blue and unresponsive for the first 5 minutes. I think I am opting for a r/s with our future babies.

  • I was induced with DD due to hypertension. After pushing for 3 hours she was finally born vaginally, however, I had to be rushed to the O/R for D&C due to retained placenta. I nearly bled out on the table. Earned my self 4 days in the hospital and 2 blood transfusions. Needless to say DS is scheduled to be delivered by c/s to avoid the possiblity of this happening again!!

  • I had GD, and DS was measuring just under 9 pounds at 39 weeks.  My OB didn't want me to go past my due date (higher risk of stillbirth for GD babies, and he was already large).  I had zero progress, so though I was offered the option of induction, I chose to go straight for the c/s.  I didn't want to labor and end up with a c/s anyway.  Had a c/s at 39w4d when i was rechecked and still hadn't progressed, and very happy with my decision!

RCS with DD and another one on the books for this baby.

  • My DD was breech so I had a scheduled c/s. Since I have a bicornuate uterus and history of previous c/s my doctor recommended I have a repeat c/s for this baby, which I'm completely fine with!

  • DD#1 - I was in labor for 16 hours and only dilated to 5cm.  My pelvis is just too tiny.  DD's head never dropped down!  It was floating around every time my dr did an internal check!  So....at 18 hours I was in surgery for a c/s!  29 min later, DD was here!

DD#2 - I scheduled a c/s.....and I looked PRETTY!!!!  LOL....there's gotta be an up side to having major surgery, right?!

Baby#3 - I'll be scheduling a c/s for this baby too!!  After my first (and only) labor experience, I never want to go through that again!  A scheduled c/s is SO much easier to recover from than an unscheduled one!

We found out at my 39 week appointment that Madison was frank breech and there wasn't enough fluid to turn her.  All scheduled c-sections were booked for over a week and I went into labour and ended up with an emergency c-section the day after my appointment.

This is exactly me.  Though, I wouldn't say I classified my c-section as an emergency.  Just, unplanned!  No one was freaking out when I arrived already in labor (except me!).

  • DS#1 went into distress during my induction but I was forewarned that a vaginal delivery probably wouldn't happen based on my pelvic structure.

With DS#2 we decided on a RCS because the criteria my dr. had for a VBAC (specifically a baby less than 7 lbs) wasn't a possibility for me. (Both boys were over 8 lbs)

  • My baby's heartrate was deceling with each contraction. My plans were for a natural birth. When they told me I was having a c/s after monitoring me for a while I was nervous and scared but I wanted them to do what was best for my DS.

  • I was induced at 37 weeks due to PIH, IUGR and low fluid. I tried my best for a vaginal delivery but after a 2 1/2 day induction i had a c section. I was okay with as all i cared about was that my baby was healthy. I'll have a repeat c section in October with number 2.
