I have my initial u/s at 18 weeks 2days and was told the baby was growing fine and is actually measuring a week ahead of schedule. My sister who is due a week after me had her u/s yesterday and was told her baby is measuring in the 33rd percentile. My mom asked if I knew what our baby boy was measuring at and I honestly had not thought to ask just because I know babies grow at different rates in the womb, but that has got me wondering if any of you bumpies have been told or asked what percentile your baby is growing in. I figured since he is measuring a week ahead of schedule then he is high on the percentile chart. If you do know what percentile your baby is in did you ask or did the doctor offer you the info without you asking?
Re: What percentile is your baby growing in...
Eh. It's all an estimate at this point, so I don't really care, unless the baby is so small or so huge as to indicate some sort of medical problem.

It doesn't really matter until 3rd trimester. But to answer your question, my first 2 babies have been in the 90-100%tile from about 20 weeks until birth.
But I make monster babies, so...
Carter Robert 7.18.08 | Brynn Sophia 5.24.10 | Reid Joseph 9.10.12 | Emerson Mae 1.27.14
I knew there were percentiles once the baby is born that is how they determine how well your baby is growing. I took a child development class in college so I knew about the percentiles but I had not heard anyone mention them in relation to an u/s because babies do grow at different rates.

Our baby boy is also measuring in the 93rd percentile. They said it is probally a growth spurt, or I am a week ahead of where they initially thought. (or he may just be a big one).
We'll see!
If anyone has their measurements (we do) you can calculate here:

I've never been given a percentile while pregnant. I've only been given estimates on weight - which are just estimates. I've also been told whether or not the baby is measuring behind/ahead/right on track.
This baby was 8 oz at 17 weeks for my amnio. I have my regular a/s tomorrow, so we'll see how much she's grown since then.
