DD2 is Arden Kate, so I'm clearly a little baised! I will say I get the "say what?" reaction from people a lot. So I always end up saying..."Like Garden, without the G". Overall though, I get great feedback on her name.
Arden has been both a male and female name since the early 1900's. It was most popular for both sexes in the 1930's (with the name being used more for men).
I can't decide if I like Arden or not. It's ok. If I heard of someone IRL naming their baby this, I wouldn't have a strong reaction of like or dislike. I'm neutral, so I guess that's good.
Your baby Sloane is ADORABLE! Such beautiful eyes.
"Normal day, let me be aware of the treasured day you are. Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart...let me hold you while I may."
I'm not crazy about it but that is because back home there is an Arden Faire Mall, Arden Blvd and Arden-Garden Rd and Arden Hills Country Club which is a super popular wedding venue. So those are the things I think of when I see it since I have never known anyone IRL with Arden as a name.
Re: what do you think of Arden?

I sort of like and dislike it at the same time. The 12 year old boy in me wants to say things like, "Arden, you make me harden" etc...
Other than that I like it
I think it goes well with your dds name.

I like it. A female Arden went to h.s. with me, so I def view it as a girl name..

Dh says the same thing to me about grandma names. I look at ss lists from the 1920/1930's to find names I like.
And I do like Arden, but I would never use it.
A blogger just had a baby last week and named her Arden Cadence. https://theleakyboob.com/

I LOVE it....but can't use it because I have a friend who named her daughter that. I really think it is beautiful.
