Poll: How many ultrasounds have you had?

And how many more do you anticipate getting, assuming things progress as expected?
I have had one so far, around 8 weeks because of spotting. I did not do the NT scan as my doctor did not recommend it for me and I was (still am) confused if insurance would cover it.
I will have one more at the anatomy scan at 20 weeks unless I have problems during the latter part of my pregnancy. So two total. If I hadn't been bleeding, I would've only had the one as standard at my practice.

12 weeks (because they couldn't find a heartbeat)
12 weeks again, for an NT scan (at a different doctor's office)
I'm scheduled to go back to the specialist again at 17 weeks. Allegedly they will do a scan again (seems early for an anatomy scan??), but I want to call and confirm that.
Dating u/s at 7w2d, NT scan at 12 weeks and I have the anatomy scan scheduled for 5/22
I've had 3 (dating, random one for spotting, NT) and have 2 more scheduled (fetal survey & fetal echo -- #2 has birth defects, including heart defects so I'll have at least 1 echo) at this point.
More likely than not, I'll have 2 more after the 2 that are already scheduled (another echo & one for estimated fetal weight around 37w)

I had one at my first prenatal appt at 7w6d for dating. Then I had the NT scan this past friday at 12w2d, and I've scheduled my anatomy scan for June 8th. So, 3 total.
I'm not sure if this is true, but I was listening to a podcast (pregtastic) that said that the State of California was working towards making NT scans standard for all women. I didn't have any strong feelings about it one way or the other, my insurance covered it, and my midwife presented it as a standard test that everyone does. Meh

Ive had 4 so far and will have another at the a/s.
I was with my RE for awhile so I had one at 6w and at 8w. When I saw my ob at 10w he didn't want to risk the doppler with my history (he knew I was concerned and I think he didn't want to chance giving me a heart attack if it was still too early for the doppler), so I had one then. I had my nt scan at 12w2d. There won't be one at my next appt though (16w). Our fridge is maxed out with 9 u/s pictures total!

Getting on Wed for an elective gender
20 weeks for A/S
and 36 weeks for ??
I think the midwifery birth center practice I attend would probably give me one, the anatomy scan, under normal circumstances. However, I've already had 2, because around 8 weeks I was measuring big, and I inquired whether they did a dating ultrasound, and the midwife wrote me a referral to have one done. Then, at 12 weeks, my midwife couldn't find the h/b, so I was given another referral to have an u/s. The anatomy scan will be in a few weeks. I will only have another if there are potential issues, or if I'm past my due date and they need to check on fluid levels and baby's well-being.
Last pregnancy I had 3: a dating ultrasound, anatomy scan, and then a 41 week check to make sure everything was still okay in there.
2 so far - 8 weeks & 16 weeks
From here on out, I'll have one every 2 weeks to measure cervix length and an additional one every 4 weeks to measure baby growth. At my 8 wk u/s, I was diagnosed with a slight bicornuate uterus and this is done as a preventative measure. Unfortunately, I'm paying for the entire pregnancy OOP, so this is putting a major strain on my wallet. *sigh*
8 weeks - first appt check
12 weeks - instead of doppler - do said it just freaks mom's out if they have trouble finding the heart beat
13 weeks - NT scan
13w1d - redo of NT scan
16w2d (Friday) - follow up high risk scan
I will probably get more us because of my increased risk. I think MFM mentioned every 3 - 4 weeks.
11wks- recheck due to previous losses
I will have a minimum of 4 more at 16,20,26 and 32 wks. I'm high risk due to losses and a genetic blood disorder. I also have a hb check with the doppler at every appt.

I had one at 6 weeks because I'm high-risk with a previous loss.
Then I had the regular dating ultrasound that my OB does for everyone at 8 weeks.
Then the NT scan at 11 weeks, 3 days.
I'm having a fourth at my next appointment (I'll be 17 weeks)
Then I guess the anatomy scan at 20ish weeks.
I don't know if there will be more. I usually ask my doctor "what's next?" at every appointment, and she tells me. She's told me about all the bloodwork she'll be doing for the entire pregnancy, but we haven't talked about ultrasounds.
At the last appointment, she said she doesn't do ultrasounds at the 16/17 week appointment, but that I could ask for one anyway and pay out of pocket. I got the feeling that a LOT of people must do that!
And I mostly want as many as possible because of my history and my age. I can't blithely assume everything is going well. Because it didn't last time... when everyone TOLD me things looked great. So, I don't trust that. I need proof. Yes, I'm excited to know the sex, but when I scheduled this extra ultrasound, that didn't even enter my mind. It was the nurse scheduling my appointment who said, "let's bump you back a week from 16 weeks to 17 so you can find out the sex.... if you're paying for an extra ultrasound anyway..."

I am hoping to not have another one till the A/S at 20 weeks. I will have an elective 3D U/S at 24 weeks and then depending on if the placenta have moved or not I can expect a few more.

I've had 2. One at 7wks for dating,and another at 12 for NT scan.
I have the anatomy scan at 16 weeks. Seems early, but that's when the perinatologist wanted me to come in.

Let's see:
6w2d - baby is in there with a heart beat
10w3d - baby is still there (had a missed mc last pregnancy)
13w1d - NT scan
18w6d - elective ultrasound to see if we're team peen or vajeen
21w5d - A/S. If my placenta is still covering my cervix I may have a couple of more ultrasounds, if not just 1 or 2 more because of my GD.
Dating u/s at 6weeks, a/s at 18 weeks and another at 36 weeks. My office always does 3, I had never heard of a later u/s but I guess they like to check the babys position

I had 1 at 8 weeks and 1 at 12 weeks. I will have 1 at 18 weeks and at least 1 more down the road to check on the size of the baby. (I had a really bad tear last time and to avoid another tear if the baby hits 8 lbs I will have a c-section)

So far I've had 3. First was at 5 weeks to make sure baby was in my uterus do to a previous ectopic. Second was at 7 weeks to check baby's heart beat. And the last one I had was at 12 weeks (NT scan.)
I will also be having another at 20 weeks, but I think that'll be the last if everything goes well.

I've had 2- one at around 7.5 weeks and another at almost 9 weeks- since they labeled me a "threatened miscarriage" due to early bleeding right before my BFP. I think I'll only get one more.
With DS I had 6 total. Also threatened miscarriage early on, plus after my a/s I had to go back since they couldn't get any pictures of his profile. He was also measuring really large, so I had more to check on that.
3 so far due to bleeding. That's been resolved so I only expect 1 more for the A/S.

I will have a scan at every appointment from here on, with the next being a week from now for growth and hoping to catch the sex. The scans will be looking for TTTS, growth, normal anatomy scan, check on placenta previa,cervix measurements,etc. Later on we will begin NST, and BPPs.
