Why can't I crave apples?!

I swear this baby wants me to gain 500 pounds. All I ever crave is bread, pizza, pasta and random things I rarely eat like hot dogs. What makes me gain weight in 2.5 seconds? Carbs. Oy! Hopefully once I get past the first tri my carbo cravings will chill out or I am in big trouble!

  • I'm the EXACT same way! ALL I'm craving is cards... fruit just does not sound good to me at all, the smell of apples is horrible right now. I try to throw a few veggies in there during the day - but it makes me feel guilty that all I'm eating is breads and carbs. You're not alone!

  • I bribed myself to eat a small side salad with lunch today.  I'll be going to get my Snickers bar out of the vending machine soon!!

  • My last pregnancy I remember wanting yogurt a lot in my first tri and after that it was cheeseburgers and ice cream - so not much better and I managed to only gain 20 pounds. Hopefully it is the same with this one. I tend to not freak about my weight having struggled with it anyway for my whole life, but I know what carbs do to me so this early on need for carbs is freaking me out and fruit or veggies just make me feel ill. Here's hoping the 2nd tri I feel more normal and can stand fruit and veggies again.

  • I'm liking carbs and fruit (especially citrus). I am not at all liking meat (especially things like steak or pork chops / pork tenderloin) or salad. Some veggies are ok but for some reason salad specifically makes me nauseous. 
  • I am having the same problem with Carbs its all i want to eat. I wish I could stomach veggis and fruit right now. THe other thing I want is a turkey sub. Why cant we eat deli meat....haha Good luck with this nad i hope that we all crave fruit and veggis in the 2nd! 
  • French fries are about the only thing these days that settle my stomach :(

    This is hilarious to me, only because I do the same exact thing!  Obviously, great minds think alike.  :)

  • I was thinking something similar to this earlier this week. All I want is ice cream. I can't eat bananas anymore without feeling like I am going to get sick.

  • same here, im going to make some homemade sauce tomorrow night so I can enjoy some pasta this weekend!  All I want is pizza and a sub sounds good too :( 

     I used to eat salads and protein all day and now the thought of it makes me ill, my poor DH made beef stew last Sunday and the smell from the slowcooker made me gag all day long, yuck!!

  • There's hope for y'all! I was craving only junk food for the first ten weeks I gained ten pounds!!! 

     

    Thank G-d I am now craving oranges. I even eat them in middle of the night!!! Yummy! and Salad look delicious to me once again too!!

     

    I'm so happy to be able to eat healthy again I was worried for my LO. So if I could make the switch back to healthy eating so suddenly so could y'all hope it happens soon for you!

    I ate a Dunkin Donuts multi-grain bagel with veggie cream cheese every day on my way to work (4 days a week) for weeks 10-13. I can't get enough fruit (citrus for me too) and I would rather die than eat pork or chewy beef. I can handle about 3-4oz of chicken if I'm lucky. My doctor said as long as I quit the carb overload after 14w that I should eat what ever I could keep down in the 1st tri.

  • I'm obviously the minority here--but I'm craving fruit like crazy! I think because I'm not staying as hydrated as maybe I should so the juiciness of fresh fruit sounds amazing! However, other little cravings sneak in and out. Last night it was chinese food. The night before--frozen waffles. But I refuse to force DH to go to the grocery store just to fulfill my one night craving so usually it just goes away after a bit.

  • I hear ya. All I crave is pasta, pizza, and anything with carbs. I can't get enough. I am always hungry too so that's makes things even worse. lol
