i keep reading how important omega 3 fish oil is important for baby's brain development in the third tri but it so hard to eat fish that often. wondering if anyone is taking supplements??
My PNVs contain DHA (the Omega-3 in question here). A lot of women take Expecta, which is a DHA supplement. There are also some brands of yogurt that have DHA... YoMommy is one. I think Breyers makes one too.
Walnuts, flaxseeds (in the blender with yogurt and fresh fruit!), beans, fish, olive oil and winter squash are just a few.
On a side note: Nature Made is one of the poorest quality products on the retail shelves today. Expecta is a good quality brand and you can know you are getting everything it says on the bottle.
I have just read many comparisons on brands of suppliments out there (2 parents in the medical field so they get/got lost of info in journals, studies etc...) For many years my Mom worked in holisitc meds and still does a ton of nutritional counseling with her paritens (everything from Cancer and Lyme to Hyperemesis patients)
Nature Made always rated fairly low, something about how it is made. Target brand rates pretty high though.
Also know that a compressed pill has to be digested before it can be absorbed. A gel cap with powder simply disolves and gets absorbed directly w/o digestion aiding in how much of the actual suppliment is absorbed.
