FF - How to...

FF is frustrating me this morning.

I have my usual time to take my temp set at 6:30am.  This morning, I indicated that I tempted at 6:30am and it is giving me an open circle. On CD 1 I tempted at 5:10am and it's giving me the closed circle!

I've gone through everything I know to try to get it to correct with no luck. I thought it might correct itself after I logged out and back in, but it hasn't. Any suggestions?

    I'm not sure of a way to fix an open circle. I think it is open because it is a much higher temp than you had yesterday. I have several open circles in my chart and as I put in more temps they would change to solid circles. Once you put in more temps FF may change it for you. Hope this helps!!

    In my experience, whatever time you temp on CD1 will be your "default time" for that cycle.  So if you temped at 5:10 on CD1 any temp that you input between 4:40 and 5:40 will give you a closed circle and anything outside of that will be an open circle.  You can change your default time in settings.

     

    Ah ha! You are so smart. I changed my time to 6:30am on the CD1 and it did make that second temp a closed circle. I figure since it's during my period, adjusting the time really doesn't matter on CD1!

    This is not a reason FF will give you an open circle.  Open circles are only caused by marking "fever" and temping outside of the 30 minute grace period of your set default.

    Thanks for correcting me. It's my first month charting (maybe I shouldn't be answering questions :/ ) On that note... Do you know why some open circles change to closed circles as I enter more temps?

    Charting since 10/11
    MH-Low levels of testosterone,treatment since 1/11 
    04/12-Me-BW for TSH, prolactin level,P4 (5DPO)- I did O, yeah!
    5/12-Me-Annual OB - US shows all normal
    6/12-SA #1 & #2- low across the board, waiting on new insurance to see specialist in August 
    7/12-1/13- SA #3- DH off testosterone injections, numbers improve and back to normal 
    6/13-RE Appt-DX ~ Unexplained Infertility -All is good to start IUI, start clomid on 6/19/13..
    06/13-8/13- 3 failed IUI
    10/13-Laparoscopy-few small cyst and some endometriosis
    01/14-BW shows possible low ovarian reserve but not low enough to not proceed with IVF 
    04/14- Start meds for IVF- BC for few weeks,Lupron in AM,then Gonal and Menoour PM. Canceled cycle after second US, not responding enough to meds.
    6/14-Trying different protocol, Started supplements for both me and DH. Estrogen for 2 months, 2 rounds of progesterone, saline US to be done this month, will start stim meds in late July/ early August

    Open circles can happen for a number of reasons, from FF: The open circles or clear dots on your chart mean that you have entered something in your data that may make those temperature points unreliable. In most cases it is the time the temperature was taken or that you entered that you were sleep deprived.

    And side note : I have two beagles myself Dog

    Yeah for Beagles... I have one full beagle and one beagle/terrier mix... our little girls lol

    You can actually keep the 5:10 on CD1. FF will automatically adjust your "normal" time based on the most common time you take your temp over the course of your cycle. So as soon as the majority of your temps are at your normal time (6:30) then it will shift so that CD1 is an open circle and the rest are closed.

    This is especially good to know if you change your normal temping time in the middle of your cycle. At first all your new circles will be open, but as soon as you have more at that time than your original time, FF will switch over and put closed circles on your new times and open ones on the old times.
