My fffc is that I actually got fired up about something on thebump a couple of nights ago, and that just doesn't happen to me.

    What was it?

This is the post on the parenting board

    https://community.thebump.com/cs/ks/forums/thread/64274734.aspx

the original thread the OP posted is this

    https://community.thebump.com/cs/ks/forums/thread/64223800.aspx

This post upset me too. I have a 5 year old boy and could not imagine if this happened to him. I am guessing there is much more to this story than she is letting on (like they were really playing doctor or something). I feel bad for the little girl but she is WAY overreacting

And we could go with that assumption and then find out that the other kid is being sexually abused and therefore doing at school what he has been told is appropriate at home. Sorry, but with something like that, I would rather be safe, for everyone including that little boy, and over react than not react enough.

Sorry, but this is typical behavior for children of this age. The school punished the boy properly. The over the top reaction of involving the police was the first thing that pissed me off. The second was the mention of getting a restraining order against a 5 year old. A 5 YEAR OLD!!!

I've been in her situation with my DS, and she is way out of line.

Yesterday when people were bashing the cliquey mom groups, I got kind of offended.  I belong to a bunch of mom groups.  These are people that I have stuff in common with: we're neighbors, or we go to the same gym, or our kids are in the same preschool class.  I don't exclude anyone who wants to join us, but if I'm in mid conversation with someone else, I don't go out of my way to invite them in either ya know?

Did you mean my comment about the moms at the park?

I honestly didn't mean to "bash".  I was more of an observer than anything, and I was more turned off by some of the nasty gossip.  Also, as I mentioned, I tend to feel a little awkward in those types of situations so my discomfort is partially my own...like I said in my comment, I'm friends with a lot of my neighbors and I'm sure there were plently of nice ladies, it was more just how it came off, as two distinct groups not interacting with each other, and there was a very clear physical difference that turned me off...skinny, cute, and dressed well in one group and heavier, yoga-pant clad ponytail moms in the other.  It just made me sad.

So sorry if anything I said offended.  I was just observing that sometimes it doesn't seem like women outgrow the cliquey HS stuff.  But it could well be that they are just drawn to women they have things in common with too, soo...

Anyway, wasn't meaning to sound judgy or like I was bashing anyone.

It wasn't yours that offended me.   Maybe I made the whole thing up in my head because now I can't find the post I was referring to.  I could have swore there was one that said all mom groups are cliquey high school bitches or something to that affect (effect?  I can never remember)

I think age makes a huge difference in play groups.  I don't even like to take Drew to on a playdate with kids Ben's age.

Team Typical Behavior for Sexual Exploratory Kids.

I played "I'll show you mine if you show me yours" with the kid down the street when I was in first grade. It's inappropriate behavior for school and the child was punished accordingly, but really, the police? Come on now.

The word on the street is that her DH is a lawyer, which has everyone speculating more on their reaction.

Her DD was touched over her clothes! The boy was a normal 5 year old boy that is learning appropriate boundaries, he's probably obsessed with butts, farts, and other bodily functions and was looking for a reaction from his friends.

Was it ok to touch someone on their private area? No. I'm sure his parents are mortified and have taken this as a way to explain what is appropriate, and what is not.

25 lbs and 32" I believe is the weight/height maximum! That thing continues to be a lifesaver for us.

The only reason we stopped using ours is because we had so much other clutter in the house and needed to get rid of some things. Oh how I miss it.

Assuming the little boy is not being abused or anything, the boy's mom has every right at this point to be really angry at the school and her parents for overracting in my opinion.  If my son did this I'd talk to him about why it was wrong and punish him accordingly, but if they wouldn't leave it alone I'd totally conider that harassment on the other mom's part. He's FIVE.

Oh and I forgot that when my niece was in kindergarten a little boy told her that he wanted to touch her vagina. So, I'm going with pretty typical behavior.
When I was 5 or 6. My best friend and I used to get naked and look at each other. I am pretty sure we touched each other on a few occasions. Neither of us were sexually abused as children or exposed to adult situations in movies or television. I think it is completely normal for children that age. RobinSparkles-That mom is definitely way overreacting and if there really are alterior motives like her and her husband trying to profit from it by suing that would be despicable.

Yes, my Christmas tree is still up.

Anywho, moving on, I just started using a dishwasher for the first time in life. I am not sure really how to put the stuff in there. I think I am getting the hang of it. I still don't understand the purpose of delaying when it starts.

SO wanted sex last night. I told him I felt sick. I really didn't. I was sleepy. He doesn't have to work today but I do. I am peeved because I feel he is inconsiderate. Then he forgot to turn off his alarm and he didn't hear it when it went off this morning so I had to get up and turn it off. When it was time for me to get up I turned the light on and made a lot of noise.

Oh, my cousin and I were all but lesbians when we were 5 or 6. Incestuous ones at that.

I wish that the OP would have seen more reactions and stories like this in her original "wwyd" post. I think people were shocked and giving "e-hugs" instead of telling her it was typical.

That little boy was not a sexual predator when this happened, but because of the way it was handled and the feelings he will now connect with sex...he is going to be one sick little dude.

We just moved and the dishwasher in my new house doesn't work...I'm in dish washing hell. It's the first thing we're buying I just have to get around to it. Why the hell would anyone do something by hand when they invented a machine to do it for us? That's just stoopid.

We don't have a dishwasher and honestly I'd rather wash by hand for every day meals. I think at this point a dishwasher would be handy for a huge meal that uses a lot of pots/pans or after entertaining guests but otherwise I think loading/unloading would just be more work for me since DH would never remember to unload it. When we have more kids that are older and use more dishes it would probably be handier.

Wow, I didn't even read the part where the police were involved, just the initial bit of what happened and the school not letting her know. That would have pissed me off, if C said he reported it to someone and no one let me know. But for the kid that did it, they just had to mention it to his parents so they could talk to him about it. The whole keeping the kid from recess part is bullshiit and excessive, and I do not see why the police are involved in two 5 year olds playing regardless of how appropriate, unless the school psychologist found there were other signs of child abuse with him.

The place I live in doesn't have a dishwasher, or any room to put one. Rent is only $359 a month. I'll wash by hand for that price.

I have been without a dishwasher for 3+ years. Our kitchen is TINY. There is really no room to put one, although lately we have been trying to figure out a way.

That made me think of a FFFC. We use plastic cups, a lot. I hate washing cups.

I have not been doing this. They are all facing the same way. Indifferent

Also I do sharp end up.

Anyone know what the delay start is for?

I use it when I load it up after dinner, but I don't want it to start until after the water/hydro rates go down, at 7 p.m.  So, I put everything in, and delay the start time.

Otherwise I would forget and they would still be dirty in the morning.

Ok, but why is that important? Seriously.

    What Bellelsa said.

I also use it when DH is on baby duty because he will inevitably forget to run the dishwasher so we don't have any clean sippy cups and I will have to delay getting the girls their morning milk by 5 minutes because i have to wash sippy cups by hand.

That does not go over well.

  • I got a Penn State sweatshirt over 10 yrs ago from a friend who didn't want it anymore. I never went to PS. I'm not even a football fan. I just love the sweatshirt. So much that the cuffs on the sleeves are all frayed. Since the whole PS fiasco I can't wear it in good faith. I might throw it on around the house but NEVER in public. I just can't bring myself to getting rid of it.

Not sure thats aFFFC but w/ all the college gear talk I thought I'd share.

  • I am so late on this but anyway.

I have a smart phone.  I love it and it has made my life easier as well.  I would never want to be without it and look forward to the up and coming technology out there.  However, I TOTALLY agree with twat.  It pisses me off to no end that I cannot be with friends or family for 15 minutes without someone being on their phone.  Nothing is that damn important.   I have a rule of no phones during meals at the table or when we are out as a family doing things.  The text, email, FB checking can fuuucking wait.

I also agree that they sexed up GoT too much.  The amount of smut in the books is fine.  That scene irritated me too and was so unnecessary.  And I say this as a person who likes violence and smut on TV (spartacus, true blood and dexter are also my faves).

I blew my nose on my husband's bath towel.

This is the best FFFC ever!! I so needed that!

I guess mine is that I cried this morning because I am SO tired of everyone being sick. Hubby has the flu (again). LO was getting cranky and not herself, so I knew something was up (I figured an ear infection was the problem). I called the Pedi and as I was preparing to take her to the Pedi for what feels like the 2.5 millionth time, I cried.

She's basically been sick for 3 months on and off with something (including RSV and hand/foot/mouth). I am so tired. This time it's a double ear infection (again) and a sore throat because she has a cough that is taking it's sweet time going away :(
