NBR: Moms with pear shape....bathings suits?

Where do you buy yours?  Ugh, I have a super small chest and large butt/thighs. I am really self conscious about the thighs. I am good with the small chest and big butt, but the not so pretty thighs bother me most. So, I hate wearing regular bathing suit bottoms. And bathing suit skirts accentuate the large butt, so not really sire the best solution.

What do you buy and where do you buy it?

Thanks!

  • Personally, I buy the mix-and-match tankini seperates so that I can find something that works for the good and bad parts of my body.

Plus, in doing this, you can buy the pieces from seperate stores, so that you can find the most flattering pieces.

  • I have had the best luck with JC Penney and Old Navy.  We live in Florida, but about an hour from the beach and we do not have a pool, so I don't spend tons of time in a bathing suit.  I refuse to spend lots of money on one for this reason.  Although, with DS being 2 this summer, we will be spending more time at a pool or beach, so I am going to have to get a new one, no matter how depressing it is for me.

  • I am pear shaped! I always buy a bikini top and a skirt for the bottom. I also have some cute board shorts. I do NOT show my thighs. No way Jose!

  • I love swimming skirts, but the skirt part has to be short enough to not accentuate my hips. I wear a tankini top with them. Most of my swimming suits are from Target. My newest swim skirts are from Lands End when they were on clearance. Fwiw, I'm a medium on top and a large (usually size 10-12) on the bottom right now.

I agree.  I've had some good luck at Kohl's or JCP.
  • I bought mine from Lands End last year. It's a tankini top and a skirted bottom.  I bought a couple of sizes online and returned the ones that didn't fit to Sears.

I have no butt and wide hips :(
