If you don't mind sharing, I am just curious. I know I am late to the game, but I have been speaking with a couple through email, and I have only received a rate from a "doula in training" so far, so I was just wondering what other people were paying. Thanks.

Re: How much are you paying for a doula?
I'm not using one, but I did price them out in my area. They cost between $600-$800. That is definately out of my price range.
$400
She I actually a CMW that does home births but we hired her to be our doula when at home and while at the hospital. Her fee includes two prenantal visits and one postpartum and during labor at home she monitors baby with a Doppler and will check my progress so that I dont head in at 2cm and get sent back home.
DH wanted a doula more than me actually. We are planning to go natural and I think he was nervous about being my coach and not knowing what to do.
