Working on the Nursery-cricut

So - I really want to do more for the nursery - and I understand that I can only do so much...  but I keep getting frustrated with being out of breath, or lately being sick as a dog - so I decided that I am going to buy a cricut and just start to make crap. lol.  We are doing robots, so I am going to buy the robotz cartridge and make pillows, wall decals, and maybe a mobile or something.

Do any of you have a cricut machine? The cartridges are pretty expensive, and I was wondering if you go to scrap nights or have a group of friends that you trade with? How do you get the most bang for your buck with this machine?

Also - do you buy your cartridges digitally online to store in "craft room?" Or do you like to get them as a hard in hand cartridge?

Also - if you live near a Menards - many of them have some sets of cartridges that are being clearanced out from black friday last year for 9.99 each - much cheaper than 40 bucks each!   (I am on my way to pick up the actual expressions machine for a whopping 99 bucks because they found a case of them in the back that they forgot to put out last year! WOOT!)

Re: Working on the Nursery-cricut

  • I love my Cricut! I want the really big one now, DH says no, sadly. Anyway, in terms of cartridges, Michaels and JoAnn's are having a sale on them right now. I also have found that craigslist is a great place to find some really cheap! Usually if its a cartridge that my mom has I'll just use hers. There was a website that was like a netflix for cartridges and I can't for the life of me remember the darn name. Sorry!

I really want to see what you make!
