Good lord I feel like an outsider..
near Bushnell, Florida!
May be a stupid question but I have to ask..
Is Tree Hill a real place? As in the show One Tree Hill?
Hello Ohio! I'm originally from Northern Ohio but recently moved to the Columbus area.

Ontario, Canada.
About 2 hours from Detroit, and 2 hours from Niagara Falls.
haha this is funny. i probably should not even announce this online. but I worked for the show for 2 years. its not a real place. its filmed all over wilmington. I was a stand-in for all the brunette actresses. it was an amazing experience. everything you see on the show is in wilmington.
SE Georgia, right above the FL boarder!
Sidenote, LBD did you get our gift, I never saw a post if you did!
yes! i did! i am actually working on posting the picture of it right now- i have been out of town for a couple weeks and only been here a couple times on my phone! we love it thank you SO much- i will post here in a minute! :-)
Wasn't Dawsons Creek filmed there too? I remember eating at a restaurant there and there was posters all over and our waiter said it was filmed there. I'm pretty sure it was Dawsons Creek.
OMG, OMG!!!
SOOO cool! Did you actually get filmed at all? Did you get to meet Brooke or Hayley? Or I mean Sophia Bush or Bethany Lenz?
yes dawsons creek was before one tree. And since this is the last season of one tree im sure there will be a new show in the works soon, but i have not heard anything yet.
Oh and let me add that the fact that it isn't real, really bums me out. I was depressed for like two days when I found out that Central Perk from Friends wasn't real. lol I am geek like that I guess
So the spot they call the "river court" that is real, right?
haha yes. im friends quite a few of them. A stand in's job is to do whatever the actresses do (walk around, pick things up, etc) so they can set the lights and cameras. I also body doubled/photo doubled for them when needed. you also read off camera lines when they film things like phone calls. its a pretty cool job, you get to meet a lot of interesting people, producers, actors, writers, musicians, etc. and its a good way to break into the industry. I got the job pretty much from being in the right place at the right time and having the same skin tone/hair color/ body type as the actresses.

And you working for oth is awesome

I'm a fellow Ontarian living halfway between Windsor and TO.
yes the river court is real. Tric is not real, its inside a warehouse and its just a set. they use local high schools for all the school stuff, and have sets at the film studio for interior scenes. Karens Cafe was downtown wilmington but it was not a "real" cafe, it was just a set. (probably similar to central perk?) and then they turned it into clothes over bros. you can walk by and look in the windows.
Wow! How lucky are to to be in the right place at the right time like that? When I was younger, I used to wish I would be *discovered* when shopping at hollister. It never happened
lol
I am so jealous of you. My best friend and I are in LOVE with the show. When they did the small towl high school thing, I applied. I am so sad that this is the last season. (I was also mad that Lucas and Peyton left)
If I ever went to NC, I will deff go to Karen's Cafe/COB. I always wondered how they filmed things like the river court without getting other random people in the backgrounds.
they block off the streets whenever they film outside the studio, and let people pass when they are in between shooting.
definitely was one of the coolest things i have ever done in my life- although i left for a reason, too many hours, too much drama... you work with men ALL day long- like 70 hours a week. it gets old. i decided the film industry wasnt really my style. but i met some forever friends- that was the best part!
Alll of this!!!! I am so jealous! Although I could understand it being hard with long hours and such!
So there's this boy. He kinda stole my heart. He calls me "Mom"
