I woke up with a black and blue nose...

It has been one long day and it all started this morning when I went to remove my Breathe Right strip. My skin is somewhat sensitive so when I take the strip off I'm used to the skin being slightly red (but manageable). Instead I woke up to a black and blue spot right smack dab in the middle of my nose - it looks like I got socked in the face but without the swelling. The only thing I can think of that may have helped contribute is I used some Simple Saline in the middle of the night. Still, I've used both products before without problems so I'm skeptical. Needless to say I'm not looking forward to explaining the spot to my OB tomorrow when I go in for my appointment.

Ok I have a dumb story that will hopefully make you feel better...

A few years ago I must have fallen asleep with my head on my arm and my arm went numb. At some point in the middle of the night I went to roll over and my arm felt dead. Like a genius, I picked my arm up with my other arm and let it drop (why, I have no idea... like I said... genius)... well it was completely dead weight and fell like a brick onto my own face. I totally forgot about it when I first woke up and was like "wtf" when I looked in the mirror and saw a bruise on my nose.

Is it possible you beat yourself up in the middle of the night?

LOL, that's funny and makes me feel a little better. I don't remember my arm being asleep last night, but that would certainly sound better than blaming a breathe right strip. But you bring up a good point...maybe I did something when I was half-asleep, squirting saline up my nose. Like maybe I pinched my nose there too hard when I tried blowing my nose. I honestly didn't think about that. Either that or I blew my nose TOO hard right after using the saline and maybe some blood pooled in that area when I went to lay down.
