We're in a 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment. We're very comfortable right now. We'll probably move to a 4 bed 2 bath in the next 2 years, once we have some kids. Or more dogs.

I think ours is like 2100 but the way it's set up we have more room than we need downstairs and less than we need upstairs. It's a cape so our bedrooms already lose a lot from the eaves but then downstairs there's a 1 room addition on each side - I wish they had blown out the bedrooms above when they did it.
We have about 1700sq. feet. It's a 4 level split and I feel like too much of the space is in the kitchen and family room and not enough in the 4 bedrooms, but we plan on being here until we retire so we are making it work.
We have 1104 s.f. (3 beds, 2 baths). I think we'll be comfortable here with one kid, but more than that and I think we'd be too cramped. With two kids, I'd need to get rid of some furniture that I really love and/or reconfigure the placement of a lot of our belongings, which would be a headache and half, I'm sure.
Ours is about 1500 I think. 3 br 2 ba and army owned. It's comfortable but for whatever reason it's all tile flooring. We have area rugs but my heart stops when dd falls hard. We are thinking we will probably rent an off post house at our next post.

We have a ranch style house, 3bed, 2 bath. The upstairs is 1,200 and with the basement it's about 1,700. Its just dh and I, no pets so it's good for us for a while.

2800 sq ft. I will be moving into something slightly larger due to the fact that we now have more children than rooms. At some point my 8 year old will no longer want to share a room wiht his brother that is 4 years younger. I assume we have about 4 more years of this arrangement before my oldest goes crazy.

We are in a 900 sqft apartment (2bd, 1 bath). It's getting a bit cramped in here, and we are starting to look into houses. I want 3 beds, 2 bath, and no more than about 1500 sqft, mostly because I don't feel like cleaning more than that.
I don't know how many square feet it is but it's a split level finished basement. 5 bedroom 3 full bathrooms. I do daycare in the basement so that takes up a lot of the space downstairs. Our upstairs rooms are pretty empty right now. I wish our living room was a bit bigger but overall I love my house.

1200 sq ft home - 3 bedroom, 1 bath + basement and attic. I wish we had one more bathroom. Sometimes I complain that it's small- but really, if I weren't a pack rat it would be ok. I really don't enjoy cleaning, so the selfish part of me likes the small sized house for that reason.
We're renting a 2225sq ft house. We currently have SIL living with us, so its a lot of space but we aren't stepping on any toes.
Nursed without dairy, egg, soy, peanut, treenut, fish, shellfish or beef for over a year.

~900sf 2 bedroom 1 bath apartment. We are planning to buy a house in the next 2 years or so-I'd like a 3 bedroom with at least 1.5 bath. Most homes in OK are only 1 floor, but I'd love a 2 story. We'll see what we can find when we're ready to buy. A house with an attic and basement are practically unheard of around here.
2000 square foot rambler with a finished basement. 3 beds, 2 baths. Its fine for the 3 of us and will most likely be fine if we only have 1 more kid . If we have a third kid we will more then likely have to move or change the layout of the basement to add a bedroom and bath down there.
The only thing that i don't really like is that it has a detached garage. I am grateful that it is a two car garage, but in the winter in MN it sucks not having an attached garage.
1400 but I love the layout. It's super open and feels pretty big. But, we have a great opportunity to buy a new house with 2200 square feet and a floored attic, so our house is going on the market in a few weeks!

Ours is 1200 square feet. 3 beds, 1.75 baths. I'd love to have more space, but the budget just doesn't allow for upgrading at this point. We plan to have another kid here as well.
750 square feet, 2 bedrooms, one bathroom and it hasa carport (no garage ). We hate it, but we bought when everything was over priced and can't get out of it.
We downsized from a 1700 sq ft two story house to a 1400 sq ft single story and it was life changing! No more up, down, up, down for DD1. I can't even imagine what a pain it would have been for DD2. We have a ductless heating/cooling unit and we are saving like $150/month just on heat/electricity. I find layout is more important than size. Our new house has a fourth bedroom in the front we use as a playroom- I can just shut the door when people come over.

It's a really open layout so it seems bigger. I would kill for a basement though. Absolutely kill.

I would say it's around 1,300 sqft. It's too small. I feel claustrophobic in it. We've been talking for awhile about getting the house ready to sell. Once we do we are going to get a house for a min of 2,000 sq ft.
1300 sq ft 3bed/2bath condo. Its fine for us for now and would be if we had one kid. If we have a second we'll buy a bigger place and rent the condo out until we're ready to downsize again.
We have a 1000 square foot house, 2BR 1Bath, no finished basement, but we have plans to finish it and add a third bedroom.
It's small, but honestly I love it, and while I don't have two kids yet, I doubt we will move when we do. I am not a packrat, and try to stay organized, which helps keep our house feeling open and much bigger than it really is.
We have a 3000 ft 5 bdrm 3 ba ranch on a little over an acre. Our old house was 1500 sq ft split level on 1/3 acre. We love our new house. It is sooooo nice not to have stairs and enough space to have a playroom and a man cave.
Not sure of the square footage but it's a 2 bed 1 1/2 bath. Layout is perfect for us and makes our apartment seem pretty spacious. In the next few years we may need another bedroom as the kids currently share but we in no rush yet.
We're about to move into a 2170 sqft house from a 1200sqft apartment. I'll be so happy to have the extra room because DH and I are really cramped in our apartment. I'm in TX also. Are you in one of the expensive areas? Personally, I wouldn't ever think of going smaller than 1700 with a kid (or more).

We went from living at my in laws to a 3200 sq ft ranch home. The basement was finished but we torn it out to redesign it. Right now it's a 3 bedroom 3 bath home on 4 acres. It way too big right now but we don't want to move at all so it'll be just right when we are finished having kids. I agree layout is more important. We have an open floor plan and high ceilings so it looks much bigger than it is.
500 square feet, plus a storage unit. We've been perfectly comfortable here for going on four years. I don't know how we do it - I grew up in a 5,000 sq ft house. We plan to stay in this apt whenever we have a LO but we'll move when the baby is a few months old. We have a month-to-month agreement with our landlord, so lots of flexibility to leave at the drop of a hat if I can't stand it.
We current have 1850 sqft. This is divided into an upstairs with 4 bedrooms 2 baths and the living area downstairs. For now its just my husband and I, but we have long term guests A LOT (i.e. his family) Because of this, I am glad for the extra space we have. If we were in anything smaller I would go crazy when everyone was visiting....they usually stay 2-3 weeks at a time as much as 4 months total throughout the year.
