How did you meet DH/SO? In high school. We started going out on the second last day of grade 9.

Where are you from? Born near Vancouver, grew up in the suburbs of Toronto, now live in Southwestern Ontario.

What's your favorite thing about being a mom? Being able to sit back and look at DS and DH playing or cuddling, and realizing, "This is our family. We made this." Sometimes when I am in the moment taking care of DS or snuggling with him myself, I don't really pause to take it all in.

The cutest thing your LO does? His latest thing is panting. I joked that he was copying the dog (who he is beyond OBSESSED with), but we didn't really think he could "copy" yet. Then the last day or two each time she walks into the room he sticks his tongue out of his mouth and pants. Then he laughs at himself. He is apparently aware of how funny he is.

What's your favorite alcoholic beverage? Baileys, Peach Bellinis, Riesling...girly drinks. Oooh, over the holidays I discovered Peppermint Mocha Kahlua (but I think it was only seasonal )

And your favorite sex position? Me on top.

What's your favorite thing about being a mom? I love going into their room every morning and seeing their faces just light up and their little legs start thumping because they are so happy to see me. I love them so much more than I ever thought it was possible.
The cutest thing your LO does? Abby has learned to kiss. I love it when she kisses me, but it is extra cute when she kisses Lil. She leaves a big wet spot in Lil's hair.
Lil loves her bouncer, and if you ask her is she can bounce, she will start bouncing and laughing like a madwoman.

How did you meet DH/SO? Long story short, we met in college and he kind of stalked me trying to get me to go out with him. I had a boyfriend and no interest in him but said we could be friends. We became best friends and then a year later I realized I liked him and we've been together ever since.

Where are you from? Originally from Lansing, Michigan. Transplanted to the Omaha, Nebraska area 4 years ago, and planning (fingers crossed) to move back to Michigan sometime this year.

What's your favorite thing about being a mom? Teaching Ev new things, and getting to watch him learn and figure things out on his own. It is amazing to me to watch him develop into this little awesome person.

The cutest thing your LO does? I can't pick just one, so top three are: 1. His real something-is-hysterical laugh; 2. He's obsessed with sticking his tongue out and he'll seriously do it for hours; 3. He realized it gets a good reaction (and gets him out of eating) to start blowing a raspberry as soon as you put baby food in his mouth. Annoying to have to clean food off every surface, but adorable because he does it just for the reaction.

What's your favorite alcoholic beverage? Sigh. I love long islands but they don't love me back. I'm pretty much banned from ordering them. My other favorite that I recently discovered is UV Cake with either coke or pineapple juice. So delicious.

And your favorite sex position? Is it wrong to say it's been so long I can't even remember? Haha. We're pretty traditional generally though.

I'll have to try the pineapple juice, I've only ever tried it with Diet Coke.

What's your favorite thing about being a mom?

My fave thing is pretty selfish. I really like that she loves me more than anyone in the world. I have never been missed or needed by anyone so genuinely. She also makes me want to be a better, more patient person.

The cutest thing your LO does?

I'm pretty sure she gave me a kiss this morning. I always kiss her cheeks and today she grabbed my face and planted a big ol' open-mouthed "kiss" on my cheek. She might have just been hungry, lol, but I like to think of it as a kiss.

Not a huge drinker but I love Amaretto Sours and Wine coolers :P

How did you meet DH/SO? I met his mom online in a chat room. We became friends and one day she was talking about her youngest son. He sounded great so I said to her, "I wish we had great guys like that here in MI." (She's from IN I am from MI about 3 hours apart.) She said he lives in MI (too bad it was still 2.5 hours apart) and she would pass along my email if I wanted. He took forever to contact me but once he did we have been together ever since. Dated long distance for over 2 years before he moved up here and we got married.
Where are you from? Just outside of Detroit, MI
What's your favorite thing about being a mom? It's hard to pick just one. The love we share, listening to DH in the morning when he is changing his diaper, his laugh, watching him learn new things . . .
The cutest thing your LO does? Right now it is the way he sleeps - on his tummy with his knees under him with his butt up in the air, like he is getting ready to crawl.

Met DH contra dancing. He thought I was cute and I thought he danced pretty well. At our wedding people thought we choreographed our first dance. We didn't know what the song was only that it was a country waltz.

I am from NH but live in WA now. I don't hate my folks I just wanted to explore the country.

LO giggles and thinks I am the greatest and when he doesn't he looks funny when he cries.

LO started dancing yesterday which is just awesome.

I'll have to figure that out again. I just got the A-okay from my PT to have sex again. Til recently, it has been horribly painful.

How did you meet DH/SO? We met in high school but didn't start dating until we went to college.
Where are you from? Central Virginia. I moved away for 10 years then moved back a few years ago to settle down near family and have babies.
What's your favorite thing about being a mom? Just that, being a mom. I love that I am the one DD looks for and depends on. I've always wanted to be a mom and it is better than I could've ever dreamed.
The cutest thing your LO does? Her hugs first thing in the morning or after a nap when I get her out of her crib ::swoon:: Also cute....her attempt at blowing raspberries, skooching backwards on her butt, and cracking herself up by fake coughing or blowing previously mentioned raspberries.

We met at my families golf course. He was playing golf- I was working! It turned out to be a fairy tale romance all summer. I thought it would be over after I went back to school since he was quite a bit older than me (14 years).... but it lasted 2 years as I finished school... he proposed 3 years later and look at us now!

All the fun things we encounter everyday... and of course how LO crawls around all day saying Mamamama. The laughs, the smiles, the giggles, and the late night breastfeeding sessions where it is just snuggle time for mommy and ella!

Right now - crawls after the cat and squels when she gets close enough almost to touch him and then he runs away and the whole process starts over again!

You know, I just had my 'spotlight' moment a few weeks ago, but will play anyway.

How did you meet DH/SO? short story: online (Cupid was the starting point). Long story: I was actually dating someone (on again off again for a few years, I refer to him as Houdini) and was scoping people out for a friend on cupid and had my profile reactivated. DH contacted me, I ignored. He found me through a friend's myspace and added me - turns out we went to the same college (as did the friend). One night original friend cited and I went up to Detroit as was our every other week habit to make our living on the blackjack tables, she was upset about a boy, it was quite late when she dropped me off and she was still upset, so I made her call me when she got home. To pass the time waiting for her, I was screwing around on myspace and invited DH to meet another friend and I out for drinks the next night. He showed up and the rest is history.

Where are you from? Toledo/NW Ohio

What's your favorite thing about being a mom? so many things and sometimes still in disbelief over it before for 2/3+ of my life I wanted no part of being a mom.
The cutest thing your LO does? I wouldn't even know where to begin but her growling and grunting and the faces that go along with it are quite hilarious!

How did you meet DH/SO? At school, at work. We are teachers and we met on our first day teaching. We were hired the same year and he asked me out while on cafeteria duty. We are still teaching at the same school today (5 years later).

What's your favorite thing about being a mom? Watching LO grow up and learn new things/being amazed every single day that I created such a beautiful little human.

I'm a very occasional poster, and I don't think I ever introduced myself, so I'll play!

How did you meet DH/SO? We met while I was studying abroad in Cork, Ireland. He went to University of Limerick but was finishing up a semester-long internship in Cork when I first got there. It was a Tuesday night so I wasn't planning to go out, but I had dinner with my adviser and my friends were at a pub on the way home. They had been flirting back and forth with a table of Irish guys all night. The tables got together at the end of the night, somehow DH ended up with my number and here we are 8 years later

What's your favorite thing about being a mom? It's too hard to pick just one! I guess watching DS develop all these new skills. It's amazing how much he has learned and changed over the last few months!
The cutest thing your LO does? He has this GIGANTIC smile that just melts my heart. He usually pulls it out when you're doing anything that jiggles him (this kid loves to be shaken up!) His mouth gets so wide and he kinda tilts his chin in. I don't think I'm describing it well, but trust me, its adorable!

How did you meet DH/SO? We met at a bar...but we were supposed to meet at dinner. Our mutual friends wanted us to hook up, but the whole dinner thing never happened. We were both at a bar, drunk one night and ended up dancing and talking the whole night into the morning. We still have a picture from that night hanging in our kitchen.
Where are you from? A gold mining town in South Dakota.
What's your favorite thing about being a mom? I love when I pick him up at daycare and he is so excited to see me. His little legs go a mile a minute and he won't let anyone (grandma included) hold him between me. He holds my face and gives me his slobbery kisses. I love our connection.
The cutest thing your LO does? He "yells" at our dog. It is so hilarious. Our dog's name is Howie and I swear Preston tries to say his name when he sees him. He screeches and claps his hands and gets the biggest smile on his face. It is so cute!

How did you meet DH/SO? At a bar in college. I was out with friends and he was out with a mutual acquaintance. I ended up leaving with him to go to another party (good thing he wasn't an axe murderer). We have been together ever since- 7 years. Married for 5 in August

Where are you from? Born and raised in Alabama. I always thought I would move out of the South. The older I get, the more I love it here.

What's your favorite thing about being a mom? Hearing him babble. And in the mornings when he wakes up and I go get him, his whole face just lights up. He does that to when I pick him up after work. Makes my heart melt.

On the bus to school during my senior year. (He was still in middle school, and in all fairness, I should have only been a Sophmore, but I homeschooled up until my "senior" year.) He lived two apartment complexes down from me. So now, we're working on ten years of being friends this coming fall.

What's your favorite thing about being a mom?

Seeing how my kids grow and learn... seeing how smart they are, and watching them figure things out and stuff.... there's nothing I could be more proud of... especially to know that I have a huge hand in not only making them, but helping them learn.

The cutest thing your LO does?

Since this is the June board, I'll post about DD, on this one, and not DS (who's 3 1/2.) She "dances" when anything is music-like. Toys, the radio, the tv (when there's a background song... whether she's sitting up or on her belly, she starts swaying back and forth. She'll do it, too, if you say "Dance dance dance." It's freakin' adorable.

What's your favorite alcoholic beverage?

Spider Bite (Tarantula Azul tequila & Monster energy drink.) I love it so much, I have a tattoo with my little brother in it's honor. (I got him addicted to them.)

I'm into doggie-style... won't lie. It feels amazing. And it's easily adaptable to wherever you're doing the deed at. Plus... it's easy access for hair pulling and other fun things. Wink

How did you meet DH/SO? At training for our work, he sat behind me and I thought he was cute...he's from Puerto Rico so at first I had the hardest time understanding him with his accent but apparently he said for a while he'd been flirting with me...I just couldn't understand him.

How did you meet DH/SO? college. He had just graduated high school. We became immediate friends and fell in love a short time later. It didn't work out (that time), but we stayed friends and 17 years later, we finally reunited romantically and within 5 months were wed.

Where are you from? South 'burbs of Chicago, the lived on west side, now back in the 'burbs (blerg)

What's your favorite thing about being a mom? Knowing that my Sweetheart and I made this little person and seeing how he lights up whenever he sees either one of us.

The cutest thing your LO does? I'm his Mama, so I think pretty much everything is cute. I love how he will look at me very seriously until I start to sing or recite Where the Wild Things Are and then he gets a big, slow grin.

What's your favorite alcoholic beverage? I don't drink much, especially now, but I dig a frosty beer or a glass of wine. All-time fave (though only for sipping or in coffee) is Bushmill's Black Bush Irish Whiskey.

How did you meet DH/SO? We met at a high school graduation party. I knew he was a ladies man but I wanted to be his friend because he is so much fun. He has always been able to make me laugh so hard I cry. That's definitely my favorite thing about him.

What's your favorite thing about being a mom? Knowing that I have a purpose and hearing her laugh to let me know I'm doing a good job!
The cutest thing your LO does? Only one!? Hmm...I would have to say it's her "m mm mmm" noises. She does it right after she latches on and by the way she acts when I go to feed her, you'd think she's never eaten in her entire life. It always makes me giggle and smile.
What's your favorite alcoholic beverage? I'm a beer girl, Newcastle!
And your favorite sex position? Doggie style (I hate the name too).
