Crazy to think about now but I was just online and randomly got an instant message from him. We started talking and gradually built up a friendship. Both of our mother's thought we were each crazy 50 year old pedophiles. But we eventually met in person and started dating almost 9 years ago.

I mentioned this a while back, but I saw DH on TV about 9 months before I ever met him. He was a contestant on Wheel of Fortune's college week in 2005. That summer I didn't have cable and watched WoF every day. We went to college in the same town and when I saw him on the show I totally thought he was cute and wanted to meet him!

9 months later he randomly commented on my Xanga blog (remember those?) so I looked at his blog and saw that he was the WoF guy and we started IMing and then eventually met up for lunch one day.

I was friends with DH's sister in HS and I actually never meet or talked to him at all in HS. It wasn't until the summer after I graduated HS, that I was at a party that he happened to show up at and we started to talk. Come to find out we were going to be in the same college (community college) class. (the only one I attended and passed, LOL) And here we are 7 years later, married with 3 kids.

We grew up in super small towns in rural Nebraska. His dad and my stepdad were friends through work. I thought he was a total jerk (through association...I honestly knew nothing about him). I dated one of his friends in high school and ended up hanging out at his house with the guy I had previously dated while in college (as friends). We started dating shortly after. I was 20 and he was 22 then. We got married shortly before I turned 22.

We officially met at church. We went to the same small, Christian University where one of his good friends dated one of mine, I was good friends with one of his roommates, and he was friends with one of the girls who lived on my floor so he was there for open dorms (dorms were only open to opposite sex at specific times, and I had to monitor since I was an RA), but we never met. I knew who he was but that was it. After graduation, I needed a job and our church needed a worship arts secretary, so I took the job. His mom sang in choir and talked often of him being in Europe that summer with the International Business Institute. When he returned, I saw him walk by my office on his way to choir practice, so I welcomed him back and asked how Europe was. I had no other intentions, but we quickly became friends and were together every single day. Nine months after meeting, we started dating, five months later we were engaged. The interesting this is, my roommate my sophomore year grew up with him at the same church. She told her sister (who later told me after we were married) that my former roommate told her Nick and I would get married someday.

We met at my moms job. She worked at an insurance agency and DH bought insurance through them. My mom kept telling me how cute this guy was but then she did the math on his birthday and he was 22 going on 23 while I was only 16. She went to back tracking, I went into her office one day taking her and her coworker a coke and he pulled up right before I did. We were introduced to one another that day and he kinda hung out at that office a lot. (He is not close to his family AT ALL, he owned a truck and was on the road a lot and knew the owners of the insurance agency. We live in a small town.)

Anyway DH's family history and his childhood are/were not good so he really took to my mom as a mother figure and really liked my dad. One day he went through her cell phone and got my number and started "accidentally calling" me about 2 or 3 times a week and when I was in town on the weekends I started coincidentally seeing him everywhere my friends and I were. My mom invited him to spend Thanksgiving with us and after that he started hanging out at our house a little more often and then it snowballed. 5 years later here we are married for a year and a 2 week old little girl. Parents weren't too happy about the dating situation at first bc I was so young and he was that much older than me but they liked him alot. He's the only son in law and I only have sisters so my dad was pretty grateful to finally have another guy around!

He first emailed me in Oct of '07. I responded o his message, then forgot about him! He sent me anther message in the end of nov and we started talking. We knew within a week that we were going to get married. We started "dating" in December(long distance, he was in KS and I was in NY). I flew out the first week of Jan to meet him and 3 days later he proposed in a horse stall. We were engaged until june of '09 when we got married.

We both met at work. I worked in the corporate office and he worked out in the field - we lived 12 hours away from each other. We met at a convention & instantly hit it off. We flirted off and on for over a year via email (and would see each other when he was in town for meetings at the office) before I got up the guts to say something. A year later I moved to live near him and the rest is history. We've been together for 6 years now.
