REALLY dry scalp...

Is anyone else having really dry scalp/skin issues? I have tried dandruff shampoo and extra face moisturizers, but nothing is helping!!! Has anyone done anything that works to make it better? I never had this issue with my other two, but maybe it's the dry winter air that's adding to my misery!!

Re: REALLY dry scalp...

  • Mine is horrible! While pg with my DS, I as super greasy, this time it is awful. My hairdresser told me to put conditioner on my scalp and leave it on overnight, I am trying this tonight. I also have some oil for treating cradle cap, that I am tempted to try too.

As a hair stylist, I would definitely recommend using a hydrating conditioner and working it into your scalp for extra hydration. Biolage conditioning balm is awesome for this and I know that your local Smart Style has their Matrix holiday gift sets (shampoo and conditioner) for $10 ;)

  • Make sure you are not using really hot water in the shower & don't shampoo every day.
  • Try soaking your hair/scalp in olive oil.

  • I'm super itchy too. Not even my belly but my scalp and legs are the worst. I have psorisis on my scalp which of course doesnt help. I use WEN Shampoo (like from the infomercial) and I love it. Makes my scalp and hair feel so much better.

  • I have had very dry hair and scalp this entire pregnancy (which was strange because last pregnancy it was nice and fully and moisture filled).  I used to wash my hair everyday, but have cut it down to two days a week.  I use extra hydrating shampoo and conditioner in the shower and also spray in leave in conditioner out of the shower.  Also when I got my hair cut I had them do a hydrating treatment on my hair.  It has helped to keep my hair shiny and nice.

  • Don't wash your hair every day. Use a great hydrating conditioner in the shower and a spray in leave in conditioner outside  of the shower. Hope that helps ya!
