I kind of have a thing for diaper bags but my taste isn't that expensive, I'd say $100 max. I have one but I really want another. I am looking online and I sorted by price and take a look at
THIS one! Do people really pay that much for a diaper bag? Well, other than celebrities anyway. Holy smokes.

There was a post yesterday from someone saying they wanted a Prada or a Gucci diaper bag and were willing to spend A LOT of money on it. I turned down a $150 Coach diaper bag (at the outlet on super clearance) because all I could think of was the poo, pee, and puke that will inevitably end up ruining it. I am getting a Vera Bradley one that can be thrown in the washer as needed.
Seriously people. Where is your common sense?
Nevermind the price, that bag is one of the ugliest bags I've ever seen.

That is the one I want too. My SIL has it and loves it!

I don't know what you plan on doing with your diaper bag but the Coach one that I've been using for the last 15 months doesn't have any pee, poo, or puke on it. And I cloth diaper so the dirties go back into the diaper bag (in another bag, but you know what I mean).
Thanks, you made me laugh.
I would be terrified of someone stealing my purse! Which diaper bag did you registry for, out of curiosity?
There are tons of options for diaper bags out there, I think it just comes down to finding what fits your style and budget
I just ordered this was yesterday in NAVY BLUE .. it isn't actually a baby bag, but a nylon waterproof travel tote. I think it will be awesome for work/travel/baby
I hope that I love it as much in person ..:)
What the...
Yes there was a thread yesterday too about people spending $2000 on diaper bags, i was like
for realz?
but I guess it is true, people do buy stuff like that.
I was thinking I'd just root through my closet and see if I had any large enough old handbags and use that.
This exactly. I'm constantly telling DH he has to be careful with bottles because they can leak, even with the cap on! (Not in relation to the diaper bag, just in general; he'll let DS play with the bottles & then we have milk on the sofa...)
I got a Jeep Diaper Bag that we registered for as a gift from Walmart, it was $20. It ended up being a little big for every day, but we've used it on vacation on when we go to a friends pool. However, with #2 on the way, I'm sure it'll get much more use!
Other than that, I have a smaller diaper bag (It's the Big Bag from Miche with the green diaper bag shell) for short outings & then I bought an every-day diaper bag at a consignment sale for $10 that has gotten tons of use & has been super easy to clean!

This one actually. I thought it was cute. I needed a large one as I am having twins so there is not much out there large enough. I was looking originally at the Skip Hop duo doubles but didn't like the prints. This one was the best I could find that was decent and big enough for two. Planning on removing that little metal piece though.
Ummm yeah! WTH?!?!
All of this but change 15 months to 19 months
I got a $500 mia bossi diaper bag as a gift and it wasn't the greatest function wise. I ended up giving it to a friend.
I liked my $60 skip hop bag more!!
I love my Vera Bradley and I use it as my purse too. I hate the idea of carrying a cheep "diaper" bag that looks like a diaper bag since I use it as my purse too. I've carried it every day for the last 14months and it's held up so well.
As far as pee and poop and spilled milk on my bag.... I'm not sure what you all are doing with your diaper bags but I've never had that problem. You don't change your child in the bag. Plus I have never had a bottle or sippy cup spill in the bag it's all about picking products that don't leak.
I couldn't spend $1000 or more on a bag but I wouldn't spend that on my purse but if you are the type to have an expensive purse why not have an expensive diaper bag. People post all the time on here about $1000 or more cribs and changing table sets that the baby will only use for a short time and very few people will see. Your diaper bag is always with you and says a lot about you why not splurge on that a little.
Those that have the Vera Bradley bag, do you like it? Is it big enough? Is it lined on the inside?? I love my Vera Bradley bags, but I wasn't sure about the diaper bag. We are going to the Vera Bradley outlet this weekend to look at it.

I think that bag is ugly. However if I wouldn't feel guilty about it I would totally spend that much on a Burberry bag. And yeah, my diaper bags/purses have never gotten poop, pee or milk on them. I think you guys are doing something wrong.
This debate will be on the bump as long as the bump exists. There was almost that exact same post as the one from the other day, on 2nd tri when I was pregnant with my first. There really isn't any sense in arguing about it. If people have the money to spend on bags, strollers, cribs, whatever, I don't see why people get their panties in a wad over it. It's not your money.
First, I think that bag is ugly and wouldn't buy it. But I don't see issue with women spending their money on whatever bag they choose. As long as they aren't asking me to pay for it, it's not my business.
My current handbag is a Coach that I've had for well over a year and it is totally worth the money. Personally, I can't stand Vera Bradley anything, so spending $40+ on a VB bag would be a total waste for me. To each their own...
DH said that with a price tag like that "it better come with a blow job button." I tend to agree.
That's just stupid and I seriously can't believe anyone pays that much for a bag, but then again I never pay full price for anything.
I think if you have the money why not splurge on an expensive bag. Honestly I have seen people spend that amount of money on more ridiculous stuff. At least you know a diaper bag will get a good amount of use.
That being said my husband and I are both teachers thus will not be getting an expensive bag. I may have to carry my baby stuff in a grocery bag (haha). But if we had tons of money, why the hell not
Wow. I can't believe there's a world out there where your diaper bag "says a lot about you." It's not the world I live in, thank god. I don't care (too) much what other people spend their money on, but it's weird to me to have your identity caught up in something like a diaper bag.
Laurie -
It was mentioned previously in this thread, but check out the Coach Outlet store - WAY cheaper and they almost always have a diaper bag on clearance... you can snatch an awesome one for about $150 - and it will LAST! The ones on clearance now are the patent leather ones, which you don't have to worry about spilling on... BONUS!!!
-L
Wow-and it's ugly.
I'm getting a StorkSak which I thought was pricey at $230.
This. Except I haven't had my baby yet and I am proud to carry around my Coach diaper bag
If you have the money and it's something you want..then buy it.
Bahahaha at your DH, AllisonMarie!!
I agree with all of this and I never pay full price for anything either
This is exactly what those who "splurge" on an expensive diaper bag think. Unfortunately, its just a bag. Doesn't make you more or less of a mom.
x2
I am so glad I don't care about crap like that. Imagine thinking a diaper bag says a lot about who a person IS. To me, that is so ridiculous I can't help but just shake my head.
