I am not sure how worried I should be. I am almost 17 weeks and have not gained anything from this pregnancy. I have actually lost 4 lbs and that is with no morning sickness. Doctor likes to see 10 lbs gain by 20 weeks. Is it possible to not gain a thing by 20 weeks and the baby is still fine?
On a side note, he did feel for where my uterus is and said it is right where it should be so that baby is growing. I am 5'8" and 168lbs so about 10lbs overweight for my height.
Re: Still no weight gain, should I be concerned?
I'm 5'7" and at my last appointment I had lost 8 pounds. 18 weeks tomorrow.
It's not a big deal so far, but my midwife really wants to see me gain weight at my next appointment. I'm a little nervous because I don't think I've gained any and my appointment is 9 days away. BUT I know that things are growing fine and I'm eating enough, so I'm really more worried about being reprimanded.
I did not gain any weight until 18 weeks, I have now gained 3 lbs during the 19 weeks of pregnancy.
The weight will come eventually.
THIS. Rule of thumb, if your dr isn't worried, don't be worried.
This is not exactly right... you have to be more than a little overweight to fall into the category where you are supposed to gain less.
