I have one! I hate when people make really vague post titles such as "Do you think...". I keep opening them over and over again because I forget if I read them or not because the titles are so nonspecific. Maybe I'm alone on this one, but I appreciate a little more info in the post title!

This was on 2nd tri UO last week, and ITA!! A vague title here and there isn't bad, but when the whole page is "WWYD?" and "Does this happen to you?" it gets annoying!

I completely agree. I think they're a waste of time and money. You want pics of yourself pregnant? Have a friend take them. I don't understand why people will drop a couple hundred dollars on some pretty cheesey shots.

*Keep in mind, I also think boudoir photos and engagement photos are wastes of time and moneu.

I don't know how you 2nd time moms kept your tongue with some of the questions asked in the 1st trimester. I get really bothered by the posts saying that at 10 wks they felt the baby all the time and now at 16 or 18 weeks they aren't and won't listen that something the size of an orange can't be moving enough to be felt (this wasnt on our board).

Yes I know, we were there too and as FTM we had lots of questions... but I think we were more reasonable about when you could realistically feel the baby/babies.

This made me smile. Pokey kindergartners are exactly who velcro shoes were made for. I don't even think the KG teachers will except shoes that tie anymore. ;-)

I do have to agree that I hate light up boy's sneakers, though. yet, I still bought them (fortunately, they're not cool by the time they reach 4 or 5). But twinkle toes ... yeah, they're g-d-awful, but pretty much unavoidable for a girl. See for yourself ...

Yea, no thanks! I guess part of my u/o should be that I personally don't like sneakers or wear them myself. The only exception is exercising, but I don't do much of that. I wear heels to work everyday and flats on the weekends for the most part.

Gotta admit, I was nervous! I like the cartoony owls, not the very realistic ones. If it's a bird of any kind, the more real it looks, the more uncomfortable I get! It's very odd...

Yea, that's why I said I didn't like them and not "I will never..." But there are so many cute girl shoes and hoping she won't want a pair of light up pink princess shoes of some kind. I guess we will see

LOL! Trust me, I've been there. Then DD started talking about twinkle toes and how could I make her be the only little girl without them? On the bright side, they're so colorful that they go with everything.

Mine is facebook related. I think it's funny that people seem to be against every type of status. It kind of makes me want to start a survey asking what kinds of updates are acceptable.

I really don't care what people choose to put as their status. It doesn't bother me when people mention their workout routine or how awesome their husband is because he did __________ or whatever. The only thing that bugs me is when I scroll through my newsfeed and I see the same persons name 15+ times in the span of an hour... Those are the people I unsubscribe from.

Plus, I defriend people like the cvntnugget who thought it was funny to joke about putting kids down like dogs and chuck e cheese should be an animal shelter for children (but I know that part isn't a UO)

ETA: That's directed at people in general, not people on this board btw

Uhhh...

Christmas is not the 4th of July or Thanksgiving - it is not an American or North American holiday. It is a Christian holiday that is not celebrated but many, many people.

Still - there is nothing wrong with saying Merry Christmas. Most people understand that it is a seasonal greeting that means no harm - but please - don't start thinking that Christmas is some type of American Holiday - it is celebrated around the world for Christians.

I used to hate Velcro shoes, but now that DD is in the stage where she must do everything herself or have a meltdown, they are a lifesaver! And one of the side effects of Turner Syndrome is very puffy feet, so Velcro Mary Jane's are one of the only styles that will fit her puffy little feet. It's very hard to find shoes with laces that I can stuff her feet into. I do avoid the blinking lights though!

I don't think I mind the velcro so much as the characters and lights!! I hate all those disney princess shirts and characters on everything. I like to dress my kids like grown ups and not in spongebob and other charcter shirts and shoes. I guess it's not a huge deal occassionally, but think it's tacky.

I also hate that people see America as a Christian nation b/c that's just not true -- separation of church and state. I wish it was more prevalent!!!

My photographer gives you a newborn shoot for free if you do mat pictures.

My UO is that I like jeggings and I wear them and haters can suck it. I have so many friends who post things on Facebook and Twitter about how jeggings are awful and terrible and no one should wear them. They're comfy, they stay tucked into the boots I wear every day, and I look darn cute in them if I say so myself. I have 2 pairs of maternity jeggings, and I'm going to wear the heck out of them.

My UO is that I think 90% of the baby gear/toys/furniture/bedding, etc. out there is hideous. Sad I've been "flamed" for saying this out loud IRL, so I generally just keep this UO to myself.

Note: I think baby clothes are for the most part adorable, it's just the gear. Why can't it be aesthetically pleasing, affordable AND good for baby's development? Does this make me a terrible mother?

I completely agree with you. So much of it is giant, plastic, and hideous. My style tends more toward the streamlined and vintage, and the idea of a house filled with plastic in garish colors that plays tinny music makes me want to cry.

I completely agree. If that were true, what's up with all the Christmas markets I went to 3 days ago in Germany? Christmas is a religious holiday. Yes, it has become more secular and I have many non-Christian friends who exchange gifts (not to celebrate the birth of Jesus, just because it is a festive time of year that has become commercial), but it certainly isn't an "American" thing.

I've never seen these 2 movies: Dirty Dancing & Footloose. And I could also care less if I never, ever, ever do. (Although I do love Kevin Bacon).

I hate when people act like I have committed murder when I say that. I love 80s movies, but to me, John Hughes was the man!

You don't need to get too much of that ugly plastic crap. We have managed to avoid most of it. I bought a beautiful wooden high chair that really wasn't any more expensive than an ugly plastic one.

And I've heard that Ikea has a lot of wooden gear (we don't have one near us so I don't have first hand experience).

Ah, I have to disagree. I never drink anything other than water when I go out to eat, and usually order something small. It bugs me to go out to eat in a group where someone orders a steak and beer that cost twice as my meal but having to pay for it evenly.

I agree with the shipping but not the food bill. I'm pregnant and unemployed so we budget. I might order chicken fingers because its what I can afford. So I don't think I should be responsible to pay for someone else's beer and steak and appetizer I didn't eat because I didn't like what was ordered.

When I eat in a group we get separate checks. I think it is ridiculous to expect everyone to split the check evenly when you order different things. I would NEVER do that.

Clarification: Alcohol makes a big difference in price, so completely understand on that front. And agree on big items like steak, etc. Those dinners usually end up being separate checks anyway, in my experience. I'm talking more about a group going out to eat and people getting nitpicky over a dollar or two. I have one friend who always does this whenever we go out. Example: if her entree cost $10 and someone else's at the table was $12, she refuses to split the bill evenly if there's only one check. (We usually only do a single check if we're taking someone out for their birthday, etc. Otherwise, separate checks all the way)

If I gotta pay $2 for you, then I have to only allow myself $13. That's not fair when your food cost more. I've paid for a friends full meal in the past to help them out or congratulate them. But not everyone can afford that. I don't feel cheap or rude only paying my own way.

I can see your point if it's a small amount, but I think it's usually also the same people every time who order expensive dinners, have three drinks, then say, "let's just split it!" and act like a tightwad if you object. This has come up before, so I'm repeating myself, but: I don't usually have more than one or two drinks, I don't eat meat, and DH and I usually share an entree. So when I feel awkward objecting (which is often), I usually end up paying twice what my meal cost. I really hate it (and with tighter money right now I also can't afford it).

My UO is that I notice that only Christians are the ones who whine about the whole "Merry Christmas" issue. You don't see Jews running around whining that they can't wish a customer "Happy Hanukkah." You don't see African-Americans whining that they can't say "Happy Kwanzaa." You don't see pagans whining that they can't say "Happy Winter Solstice."

What's so wrong with embracing the fact that everyone is different and each person's choices are just as valid as anyone else's? Why do you have to be so superior that you have to force YOUR season's greetings on someone else? Why can't you just say, "Have a nice day?" Why does it matter WHAT day it is? Why dose it matter what holiday you celebrate?

hmm. maybe I'm just being bishy about this, because put that way, I don't think you're being cheap OR rude. Totally get budgeting/not expecting others to pay for you. I think the reason this drives me BSC is because the one person I know who does this consistently easily makes well into six figures and lives a pretty extravagant lifestyle. But even at a cheap, casual restaurant she is still inevitably going to make the rest of us re-do the check over $1. (This happened last weekend) I probably should have put more thought into that before making a sweeping statement about everyone. I certainly wasn't implying that keeping to a budget is rude.

I hate when people get over sensitive about the word Christmas. I'm talking both ways. Both the people who say "I put the CHRIST in Christmas" and the people who call a Christmas tree a "Holiday Tree" bother me. Please, that's a Christmas tree. You just don't want to offend the whiners.

Agreed! Im tired of the PC crowd crying and whining over Christmas. We celebrate Christmas in North America, if you don't like it, feel free to go some where else. I don't get offended if people say Happy Hanukkah to me even though i'm not Jewish so why is Christmas such a horrible word.

Christmas is not the 4th of July or Thanksgiving - it is not an American or North American holiday. It is a Christian holiday that is not celebrated but many, many people.

Still - there is nothing wrong with saying Merry Christmas. Most people understand that it is a seasonal greeting that means no harm - but please - don't start thinking that Christmas is some type of American Holiday - it is celebrated around the world for Christians.

My point was not that only North America celebrates Christmas my point was that in most cities , towns , etc in North America at this time of year people are celebrating the holidays (whatever holiday they celebrate ). So if people can't handle some decorations or people saying Merry Christmas or whatever else people do during the holidays they should go somewhere where this doesn't happen. I'm tired of people whining about this season.
