There's a hickie or a bruise Pictures of last night Eended up online I'm screwed Oh well It's a blacked out blur But I'm pretty sure it ruled
Last Friday night Yeah we danced on tabletops And we took too many shots Think we kissed but I forgot

None of this stuff is funny or cool and letting small children think it's acceptable is NOT ok.
I don't feel bad for Joe Paterno at all. Penn state students made themselves look like jerks last night. If one more alum posts on FB about how they are crying in heartbreak over Paterno ending this way I'm going to lose my shiz. Cry for the victims don't cry for a football coach. He's not a God and he screwed up tough titty kitty.

I couldn't believe it when I read about riots. I simply can't imagine that ever happening at Purdue (we're Big 10, too)...which makes me wonder about the culture/mindset on campus at Penn State.

In all honesty no one at Penn State ever could have imagined it happening there either. It could happen anywhere. I don't believe it is a Penn State culture thing.

Feel the exact same way here. I'm at Michigan State (also Big 10) and we're infamous for our goofy riots but that's a very sickening excuse to do it.

AMEN. I went to LSU and we still live and breath football. However, I would be embarrassed and ashamed of my coach and school. Sadly, there would probably been similar die hard fans mourning like Penn State - but I would judge those a$$holes too.
Such disappointing casting all around. Lautner makes an okay teen wolf, I guess, but Kristen Stewart...also a big drag. I think this is actually popular opinion among those older than 17.

I am a PSU Alumn and completely agree with you. Seriously, starting small fires and tipping over a news van? I don't know how I would have reacted had I still been attending school during this, but seeing how this has all played out is astounding to me. And Joe Pa needed to go. Where are your morals, old man?
I hate Christmas music unless I'm putting ornaments on the tree, baking Christmas cookies, it is Christmas eve or Christmas day. I detest the jazzed up Christmas songs played in all of the stores from here until Christmas, in particular. I promise I'm not a scrooge, I just think Christmas music has a limited appropriate time and place. To those who love it, enjoy it but feel free not to share;)

Yep, I am Ohio State and with all stuff with our coach I would sure hope they would fire him for his part of this. I cannot imagine riots over something so serious!

I think it is horrible that accusers of sexually based crimes have to pass some sick "are they a good victim" test. I am sorry but I don't care what they were wearing, what time it was, how many people they had sex with in previous years, if they have financial troubles, etc...we don't put victims of other crimes through the same abuse...we don't blame the person who says they were robbed because they had to be asking for it because they were wearing expensive clothes and had a fat wallet.
Such disappointing casting all around. Lautner makes an okay teen wolf, I guess, but Kristen Stewart...also a big drag. I think this is actually popular opinion among those older than 17.
Maybe because I am from up north and don't have college football blood, but I do not understand the passion for college football.
Is it sad that I gasped when reading this? Seriously, I did. I love football. Down south, football and food - they are just a way of life.
This totally cracks me up I'm from up north too and we don't get it either. DH and I have actually discussed that we are sad it's not like that up here with college football. It seems like it is so good for the community, and a great way to connect with others. We also think it makes more sense to tailgate and party on a Saturday than on a Sunday (up here we go nuts for Patriots games), but that's a whole other story. LOL.

100% agree. These poor kids get trapped in the extremely outdated belief that women who get raped are somehow "asking for it." Rationalizing rape is absolutely sick.

This!
DISAGREE. I like the casting. Call me crazy.

Totally true, that and the Red Sox. When I see siggies that have huskies or something, I have no clue what team/state/college/etc that goes for.
Okay here a question for you guys! The one incident where the assistant whatever mcqueary SAW a kid getting abused in the showers.....yes he reported it to someone, but I haven't heard anything bout whether he tried to stop it or anything! If I saw a 10 year old kid getting sodomized I sure hope that I would stop the guy!

Per the grand jury report, he left and called his father, then went to Paterno's house the next morning and told him. His "camp" is apparently saying that he's not telling his side yet b/c he's still under investigation.
At the time, he was 27 years old and a big guy and former football star. I have NO idea, no matter how much of an authority figure this guy was to you, how you don't walk in there and yell "What the hell do you think you're doing, leave that kid alone!"

Exactly. McQueary saw it happening. In the grand jury report it says that Sandusky & the child saw him as well. He turned his back and walked out to call his FATHER! He was no child, he was in his mid-late 20s, he could have stopped it right there.
McQueary needs to be out of PSU too. He should be loosing his job right along with the rest of them. Unfortunatly I do not believe PSU has any legal ground to do this, which is why he is still employed.

Plus he reported it to Paterno. Why didn't he go to the police? He basically did the same thing as Paterno passed it off to a higher-up.
He got a job for the team. Seems like he was paid-off.

Nah, it was the same for me in rural Indiana for high school and at Purdue. Just varies by community, I think.
have to ask what part of rural IN? It is huge here in Greene Co.
I was disagreeing with the premise that northerners aren't into football. Grew up in Carroll County (between Lafayette and Kokomo). High school Friday nights were a big deal, and Saturdays always meant the radio was tuned to the Purdue game.
edit: I don't think it's about "north" and "south". I think the midwest and the south have a lot in common this way, but neither coast as much so.

Football is a way of life in the south. As a matter of fact, I get SO overwrought over football I've decided to stop watching it because I am seriously worried I will stress out my babies.
My husband is from Maryland and he doesn't get it either.

I live in Texas and think capital punishment is hypocritical.
I agree but at the same time don't disagree with it. How bad is that!?

I haven't heard it because I don't really listen to pop music but OMG those lyrics are awful
"I'm listening to Christmas song before thanksgiving"
Heard radio MC saying it and now im listening to christmas songs LOL
It's so darn catchy. Glad I don't have an impressionable child. yet.

Right! He looks like he ran straight into a wall and flattened his face! Glad I'm perfect so I can pass judgement on him! bwahahahahah
